Né de la rencontre du pianiste Mathieu Bélis et
du percussionniste Thomas Ostrowiecki, rejoint par le violoncelliste Karsten Hochapfel,
le groupe Yeliz Trio s’inspire aussi bien des musiques
classiques européennes, du jazz, de la musique
urbaine, que des traditions modales d’Orient.
De cet héritage est né un son singulier :
harmonies impressionnistes et langage mélismatique
du piano, sonorités lyriques ou
rugueuses du violoncelle, transe ou rythmes
asymétriques des percussions…
La complicité des trois musiciens ainsi que
leurs parcours respectifs les amène à voyager
sans cesse entre l’écrit et l’improvisation,
proposant une musique résolument contemporaine,
urbaine et empreinte de traditions
modales multiples.

A travers des compositions
imagées, entre musiques de
transe, mélopées orientales
et climats impressionnistes,
le Yeliz Trio plonge l’auditeur
dans une expérience sonore
singulière, à la croisée du jazz
et des musiques du «sud»…
