“Gradient Descent” is the fourth Metalogue EP. Exploring variations on a single melodic theme, the record travels from dark cavernous ambience to precise digital structures, crossing through sweeping synthetic textures and industrial claustrophobia along the way.

Gradient Descent was written and performed for a Chaos Theory event headlined by Jarboe and Farther Murphy, at St Pancras Old Church, London on 23rd October 2017. The piece features custom made electro-acoustic instruments, field recordings and live electronics. The release on Abstrakt Reflections is a studio arrangement of the original material, integrating additional sound design and layers of live sound from the church performance.

I'm back again here to take you on a roller coaster ride into the 60s through a Breakbeat-Chiptune-Vaporwave inspired "remix" of the track "You Been Gone" performed by "The Soul Mates" taken from the compilation CD titled "Fuzz, Psych & Surf - Garage Sounds of the 60's". Buckle up quarantiners cus now here comes THE SEQUEL: U_BEEN_GONE(2)


Funny enough, the only place I could find info on the original track online was off a Spotify upload of the same compilation CD I sampled it off of in the first place! If you're interested in having a listen I've linked it below.

Been practicing new mixing techniques and automation like sends and ducking bass and kick drums to get the low end sounding real hard. If there is anything about the track that's real ugly sounding let me know (preferably through pm) and I'll make some small tweaks and fixes since I'm still learning hehe ;3c  Anyway I hope you all enjoy this! I got big plans for the future and it involves kicking ass.
