	A fantastic bit of dubby funk -- performed by a trio with some massive Fender Rhodes! The Nonalinians live somewhere in between the 70s work of CTI and Jackie Mitoo -- blending funky reggae rhythms with electric jazz riffing, to create a sound that's unlike anything else we've heard -- but which is instantly appealing to our funky ears!
	The album features 6 killer instrumentals -- all very much in the Madlib camp at some level, but with much more of a rhythmic pulse from 70s dub and reggae. The bass is super-heavy in the set, nearly blowing out the speakers as the electric keys glide over the top in some very soulful solos! Nonalinians -- Bandung 16.04.1955 [Aljama/La baleine]
	Originaire de Toulouse, Nonalinians est un trio basse-batterie-Fender Rhodes qui propose un reggae instrumental matinée de jazz, dans la tradition des Jackie Mittoo, Cedric "Im" Brooks et autres Lennie Hibert. Un parti pris original qui suffit à les distinguer sur la scène reggae française. D'autant plus que le minimalisme de leur instrumentation leur permet de développer un son très personnel, basé sur un noyau basse-batterie solide comme un roc, autour duquel papillonne un piano électrique peu courant dans le reggae qui délaisse régulièrement la pompe pour ne s'occuper que de la mélodie. 
	Une formation à suivre, assurément.
