This set was truly special, to say the least. It marked several firsts for me: my first time in Poland and my first time playing an all-original set. Leading up to it, I was caught in a wave of emotions—equal parts terrified and excited. But after that unforgettable Friday night, all I can say is WOW. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was there, dancing to my music from start to finish. You've filled my soul to the brim! Until we meet again—hopefully on a dance floor just as magical as this one. xxxx

Psychotherapist by day, mind-hacker by night, here comes Leipzig’s Vincent Neumann with two hours of widely versatile techno and electronics. All in jagged dynamics and hi-NRG propulsion, Neumann’s mix is an ode to old-school raving, back when the DJ’s name was of no importance but the flow of the music itself was all that mattered, or when the true spirit of techno rhymed with riotous communion and a new horizon of possibilities, not some ultra fast-fashion side issue. The result is a fiery jaunt across some of those balls-out anthems old and new that got people converging from all around the country onto secret places, eager to let the socio-political frustration of their age out, regardless of how the norm thought of them. A manifesto-like set to play out loud and share around.

On May 10th, we had arranged something truly special: a rare reunion from Art Department, Jonny and Kenny back under the original banner. The day before the show, though, we got word that Jonny tested positive for COVID and would not be able to make it. To make matters worse, Kenny showed up feeling off himself—stomach problems, not doing great. For a moment, we were not sure whether the set would happen at all.

Then, after a quick pep talk (and maybe a little Johnnie Walker), Kenny decided to push through. He played the entire set from just one side of the DJ setup, leaving the other deck silent, like he was holding space for Jonny. Mid-set he passed us his phone to grab some content; somewhere between shots we pulled a South Park moment and killed Kenny’s phone, leaving him to play on, clock-free and carried by the night’s energy.

With no idea what time it was, Kenny kept the dance floor alive well past closing. It was one of the most memorable sets of the season—raw, alive, and full of heart. Kenny played for both of them, and everyone there felt it. Nights like that are why we do this. For the music, the people, and the magic you could never script.
