When considering the variety of his musical influences, it comes as no surprise that Locked Groove’s productions and DJ sets are as versatile as they are - and his passion for music of all sorts is self revealing in his name. With a career spanning over almost a decade already, his first record was released on Scuba’s massively respected Hotflush Recordings - an imprint he remains close to to this day. 

Although his most popular records use a four to the floor rhythm swinging through fleeting melodies, you know a Locked Groove record when you hear one.

Going on a disinformation diet

The fact that @kimkenis started DJing is perhaps only a logical consequence. Since her childhood music has always been her escape. She loves all genres. But since she discovered the clubs in 1999, her love for electronic music has only intensified. Being in the scene for over 15 years and after years of research and collecting, she has an extensive collection of music in all styles. With her predisposition to always want to share everything, it's strange she didn't think about starting spinning much sooner. Kim likes to do long, mostly horizontal sets. Here she proposes an hour voyage between dancing and spacing out. With her broad taste she will go from organic and groovy to sterile and minimalistic, one thing is for sure, it will be deep!

Unflinchingly innovative and clinical in his approach towards both DJing and production, Sigha clocks in our series with two-hours spanning most of the variegated post-modernist flavours he’s come to advocate, fusing an enduring taste for reconfigured dubstep tropes, a stripped-down, melancholic 4x4 syntax and above all, that alchemical mixing science that attests to the power of music as a shapeless drive belt for the most fathomless kind of human emotion.

Sakuma is raised in Niigata, with a huge interest in music, especially metal and experimental, and emerged as a DJ in 2010.
He moved to Tokyo in 2015 to pursue his music carrier and started his party ‘Modest’ two years later, in which he has invited artists such as Valentino Mora.
Other than Modest, he has played alongside with DJ NOBU, Rrose, Marco Shuttle and more artists at clubs or festivals like rural and Re:birth.
Not only as a techno DJ, but also as a house DJ, he has experienced to be resident of Oath, a quality club in Tokyo focused on house music.
