For my show in Kansas City, (last show before waiting for surgery) I really wanted to write a banger to test on the crowd. It went alright but I was also very drunk by the end and couldn't remember how it went over.

When we started the remix EP, I had the chance to re-envision a song of my own. I picked Marathon for the contrast as it was one of the lighter songs on the EP. As soon as I got to the drop I knew the sound from the earlier demo was perfect for it and a new melody would fit in place.

Excited to hear what you think of this. Should I write heavier songs like this more often?

i believe i wrote about 5 different drops for this track, some of them were cool but not fitting for this vocal and overall feel of the song... i especially wanted this track to be remembered with for having a powerful first drop and a hard second drop. in the end, im very happy with how this came out and cant wait for you to hear the rest of the 'illusions EP'
