This is truly the most wonderful time of the year - purely magical. And I think it ought to be accompanied by music which beckons nostalgic warmth. This version of Dwell was born of late nights at a piano...always wondering if the melodies of the original could be rewritten in a rather free and spontaneous fashion. This is what emerged. It is best enjoyed under a star-lit sky as the snow falls  - of course with several angels & baby deer in your midst as you sip hot drinking chocolate. The plucked/felted piano you'll hear in this is something I modified in my studio - I used felt from the bottom of adhesive furniture savers (the things you put on the bottom of chair legs to keep them from scratching the floor) and adhered them to different piano strings - made for a magical experience!

It is, once again, the most wonderful time of the year. For all of us struggling to feel like it's Christmas, let me whisk you away to a magical land for just a few moments with "Immanuel."

I chose to blend my favorite melodies from two songs: Carol of the Bells and Veni, Veni, Emmanuel (O Come O Come Emmanuel) into a seamless piece of music. Because of the complex nature of these songs, I decided not to include lyrics - rather to accentuate my favorite pieces of each song with cello, fiddle and mythical vocals. Tom Bruce - 178th EP [CLIPP078]

The debut E.P from Tom Bruce is similar to moody photos taken on your mums point and shoot film camera you found hidden away last summer. Grainy shots in low-light, city landscapes and red-eyes in the early morning after you battle home to the safety of your bed. The '178th' E.P showcases Tom's love for a nice warm chord, heavily layered drums and a simple bassline.

Starting the journey with 'Be Vocal', a swirling lo-fi tune with some serious punch in all the right places. '178th' begins to take the release on a darker path with shimmering pads and synths, layered with acid lines that take the focus in the second half of the song. 'Let Go' is the final destination, taking hold with a thumping kick and bass combo and vocal commands that tell you to give into the groove.

Vincent DiFrancesco is a multi-instrumentalist and producer of electronic ambient and neo-classical music. Trained on violin and viola from early childhood, Vincent first began creating music outside the classical genre with an electric violin and pedal board as a street musician in his early teenage years. Today, his music seeks to reimagine string instruments through the lens of popular music production. Most of his releases consist of up to 70 tracks of recorded string instruments arranged in patterns normally associated with the electronic genre. Instead of creating complex harmonies, Vincent places particular focus on sound texture and quality. Since 2016, Vincent has independently released four EPs and and six singles.
