Italian acid-tech-house for dancefloors everywhere:

Continuum Gate is a huge, super-effective DJ tool. A wonky acid top-line hovers over rolling, Spastik-style percussion (which everyone loves)... add in massive kicks and a gritty ride and BOOM, the party gets pazzo. 'Children of the Heart' tweaks the reverb and flecks the resonant acid all over your mind... it sounds like Daniel Avery, dipped in tiramisu. Finally, 'Turbo Rolling Ride' ups the jack quotient, with pumping snares punctuating an infinitely grooving bassline.

Solid, playable bombs.

Alli Borem - Children Of The Heart

If there’s one thing Jonas Kopp has proven over the last decade is that he can turn his hand to just about anything. Since debuting on Pfirter’s revered MindTrip Music back in 2006, the Buenos Aires native has managed to rack up a rich and compelling discography, coursing with ease through electronic music’s various forms. 

From warm Chicago house through to deep, dark and driving techno on labels like Deeply Rooted House, Stroboscopic Artefacts and more, Kopp’s hypnotic and heady sentiment has remained the red thread throughout, which has allowed him to flourish as one of techno’s more liberal dance floor purveyors. 
More recently, for Illian Tape he strayed out of the ring entirely to deliver two billowing, orchestral-sized ambient works; proof that there’s still plenty more to come from someone already so well-versed and dexterous in his craft. 

It’s high time then, that Jonas Kopp should present his first full-length effort. 'Beyond The Hypnosis' weaves Kopp’s discursive repertoire into a single and concise narrative, covering both familiar ground and exploring new and spellbinding territories, along with just a hint of cosmic neo-retroism that makes this a welcomed edition to the Tresor catalogue. 
Despite having just a single release on the label so far, 'X' featuring on DJ Hell’s 2013 Kern Vol.2 compilation, Kopp has been a firm fixture at the club since 2011. Jonas Kopp is the next in line of contemporary luminaries that Tresor proudly welcomes to the fold. 

'Beyond The Hypnosis' is a techno album as ambiguous and unrestrained as its astrological muse. This is Kopp at his most wayfaring with titles like 'Seven' and 'Green Square' showing off more of the producer’s flare for spacey, subaqueous music. There is of course plenty of floor-facing material as well, delivered with less stringent functionality than we’ve seen from him before. The perverted 'Tau Ceti', for example, or the basement-dwelling single 'Red Plented' have been tarnished with the same brush as this album’s more dreamier moments, like 'Ironcry', setting them apart from stand-along experiments to work collectively as a symbiotic and fully-fleshed whole. 

'Beyond The Hypnosis' will be available on CD and 2LP, accompanied by the 'Red Plented EP', featuring two titles exclusive to this 12". 

09. Jonas Kopp - Seven

Eight volumes in, the sheer quality of Push Communications' My Deep House series shows no sign of letting up. This is that rare thing: a compilation that commands the listener‘s attention from start to finish, captivating you with its diversity of sounds and moods. 

The international line-up is, as we've come to expect, impressive. Big players such as Phonique, Vincenzo and Vince Watson rub shoulders with established names Jay Haze and Andrade and a host of up and coming producers including Alex Blaxx, Josh Winiberg and Brynjolfur.

Cherry-picking highlights is simply impossible. From the moment the resounding piano chords of 'Merry Go Round' seize the baton from the hard-hitting yet soulful 'The Moment' it‘s clear that standards are going to be exceptionally high. Kasper Bjørke delves into pockets of space that few producers can reach in an exploration of dark and gothic territories. Roberto Rodriguez summons up a purist's house groove that compels you to submit to its pulsing synth riff. Julius Steinhoff gives the rigorously programmed lines of Deo & Z-Man's 'Tales of Love' a spontaneous, improvised feel. No Regular Play conjure up a yearning, late-night groove.

There's a cornucopia of sounds for every earbud: textbook peaks and troughs, stuttering beats, big handclaps, husky vocals, reversed guitars, dubwise and disco grooves, chiming polyrhythms; something for every discerning palette - and for both body and soul. 

And, never content to rest on their laurels, Push thrown an exclusive from Bristol's Owain K into the mix, channelling the spirit of classic Larry Heard into a standout example of deep and immersive contemporary house. Irresistible stuff.

Following the release of Jonas Kopp's capturing debut album and the recent Transllusion and Drexciya re-issues, the Berlin powerhouse starts the year with a bang.

Tresor Records is proud to introduce the debut collaboration between all-time reference DJ Deep, and emerging artist Roman Poncet, with two powerful 12"s released back-to-back, exploring both modern and classic interpretations of techno.

DJ Deep, uncovered by Laurent Garnier in the early ‘90s, has always rested on the cusp of modernity, whether in the realm of house or techno, relentlessly delivering visionary selections throughout. As label owner of Deeply Rooted, DJ Deep seeks out likeminded artists, including Poncet, to propel his vision of contemporary sounds.

Roman Poncet, surfaced in 2013 with a growing catalog on labels as Deeply Rooted, Taapion or Figure. The blend of the two producers is simply incendiary and their profound compatibility takes all its sense on these two EPs.

Something of a teen sensation who graduated with honours from the club scene of his Italian hometown of Pavia, Simone Liberali has already hit the charts of Beatport in double quick time and embarked on a release trail that has seen him light dynamite for the likes of Witty Tunes, Zoo Technique and Bad Barbie Records. Still only 19 years old and able to namedrop some of the best in the business after sharing deck space with DJ Sneak, The Martinez Brothers and Hot Since 82, Liberali makes Clarisse his next port of call for the Swiss labels opening release of 2015.

With some spiky party-starting lyrics directing the strains of rush hour traffic and dub percussions, Liberali delivers Swan with a bustling bassline chug thats hard to get away from once you first feel it jumping and pumping in your direction. Much like the bird in question, Liberali makes easy the execution of feet working overtime while keeping cool up top. Equal parts funky and fearless.

Clarisses ever-ready strike-force of Mendo and Yvan Genkins remix Swan by catching the night train, rolling out bells, sirens, shunts and a series of alerts signifying that theres a roadblock incoming. Theres a carnival feel to the track, but not one thats awash with bright colours and high fives; Genkins and Mendo prefer to take their loops down a diverted, more devious route along the back of the parade instead.

A rival and compatriot to Swan is Redemption, bearing the same styled bassline as Liberali recognises what foolproof guns he should stick to. This time the powerful bottom end is slung further downwards from a second fortress of funk fulfilment, with an expectant countdown on the break rising above excited chatter and helping shape a groove that can go all night long.

Tresor is proud to welcome Mønic to its catalogue. Head of Osiris Music, Mønic is an accomplished producer based in the United Kingdom. His style can be defined as raw yet exceptionally refined, allowing for a certain industrial inspiration to ooze from his productions and outstanding sound design.

‘Parsons Hill’ opens with tumultuous percussions that continue to escalate throughout the track as an eerie looming synth dances above the kicks.
Alternatively, ‘Morse’ reveals another side of the artist with a more serene attitude. Here, static passes through a magnetic field with a constant palpitating bass. ‘Hollow Victory’ opens with thunderous clangs and a flurry of ominous chimes that echo through the darkness swirling above a pulsating heartbeat.

David Lynch & Lykke Li - I'm Waiting Here

With almost 30 years in the Electronic music industry, Vince Watson has released over 1000 songs including 250 EP’s, including 15 albums and 75 remixes, and his hard work has been rewarded with recordings for some of the very best electronic music labels like Cocoon, Planet E, Yoruba, Poker Flat, BBE and Transmat as well as running his own Everysoul label.  His skillsets have allowed him to work with some of the very best electronic artists including Laurent Garnier, Joe Claussell, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Carl Craig, Osunlade, Steve Bug & Josh Wink and as a touring musician has been able to play at some of the worlds best clubs and events including Enter at Space, Ibiza, Berghain Berlin, Womb Tokyo and many events in The Netherlands. 
His radio show ‘Radio Drama’ has featured top guest from the electronic music world each month. Some examples include Ben Sims, Truncate, Manoo, Fred P, Steve Bug, Osunlade and many more.

Late 2020 Vince released an LP for The Outlaw Oceans music project entitled ‘Hope’, which was commissioned by the New York Times investigative journalist Ian Urbina and is now in production for Netflix as a documentary series.

Vince’s live shows are in demand around the world, performing in summer 2022 for Carl Cox’s birthday at DC10 Ibiza and as a former Tresor Berlin resident, his DJ sets are also now highly requested with appearances in clubs such as Berghain and Womb. Vince is currently resident of 909 Festival in Amsterdam. He debuted at Berlin’s HoR late 2022.

His sets can be heard in many headline podcasts series, where he has featured in podcasts from Carl Cox, John Digweed, Dave Clarke, Luciano, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats and Resident Advisor.

His 2021 His 18 track Detroit Techno LP ‘DnA’ was ‘[re]Sequenced’ by some of his favourite artists from the genre, including Carl Craig, John Beltran, Claude Young, Jon Dixon, Shawn Rudiman, Steve Rachmad, Stephen Lopkin and Stephen Brown.

Vince also debuted a new techno live project called Amorphic which launched with releases on Modularz, Symbolism and Token as well as a self-titled label, now 3 Ep’s deep.

As well as his ‘normal’ touring schedule and studio commitments, Vince’s experience and knowledge is also being put to use by Conservatorium van Amsterdam where Vince is working as a Senior Degree Lecturer for AEMA, the CvA’s new Electronic music school, where he teaches DJ classes, Production classes and Remix classes.
