Born in South Africa, DJMattz is a multi-genre music producer & DJ. 

With having a passion for music from a very young age , he started his DJing & music production journey at the age of 14. What started off being a hobby while still in school has turned into the bread and butter for him. From amapiano to tech house to baile funk and even drill, he has a variety of genres under his production belt. 

 

He’s made a name for himself with his mashups & remixes that have gone viral across the world on social media platforms TikTok and Instagram as well as being used by various celebs from the likes of Darshan Raval, Shahid Kapoor & the Rajasthan Royals IPL team to name a few. The two major ones being a mashup of Glass Animals track “Heatwaves” and Ok Jaanu garnering over 250 thousand views on YouTube & the other being a drill remix of the track “Chammak Challo” with almost 1 Million views over on YouTube. 

 

Another huge tick off his bucketlist was being on international radio which he achieved in late 2021 with picking up a slot on the “Love Friday Mix” slot on BBC Asian Network and flying the South African flag high as he was the first South African DJ to be on the station & in April 2022, he became the first South African DJ to have a residency slot on the lunchtime show “Beyond Bollywood” for the month.
