SOULMEEX sixth label release is finally here, delivering a luminous burst of dancefloor energy with The Velvet Dust EP by Faroese-Copenhagen artist Brynjolfur. Infused with Balearic dream house aesthetics, it unfolds as a three-track euphoric journey. Deeply cinematic yet built for the club.

The EP features Skyline Groove, Solstice Serenade, and Golden Circle, each offering a different facet of Brynjolfur distinctive sound. To complete the package, Portuguese-Italian producer Vhyce delivers a striking remix of Skyline Groove, adding his own personal touch.

The visual identity of the release is completed with artwork by Icelandic photographer Valtýr Daregard, adding an atmospheric layer to the record.

Papolious Jones - aka Brian Topham - makes his debut on Mari.te’s ever-eclectic tresydos with the release "Answers", a four-tracker that blurs the lines between nostalgia and the now. Across the EP, the Barcelona-based artist sculpts grooves that feel like they’ve been unearthed from a 90s afterhours tape, yet carry a polish and focus that’s distinctly contemporary.

The title track, "Answers", sets the tone: a tightly wound number where elegant synth lines curl into a hypnotic loop, equal parts party-minded and introspective. An acid line bubbles beneath the surface, not snarling but slyly guiding the pulse, while retro flecks creep in like afterimages from old Electro records. Still, this isn’t pastiche - the track maintains a sound very much its own, balancing strut and subtlety, memory and immediacy. It’s the kind of cut that convinces bodies onto the floor without needing to raise its voice, inviting dancers to sink into its understated but undeniable pull.

Papolious Jones makes his statement with restraint: "Answers" doesn’t scream, it suggests. And in that suggestion lies the magic - a groove both retro-tinged and refreshingly current, impossible to pin down and even harder to resist.

Arpanet dig into the archives for their latest outing, reissuing Caligari’s 2005 cut "Blue Shit", a Salzburg-born Electro/Italo oddity that has aged into cult status. Two decades on, the track resurfaces on the "Ringo The Star EP", reminding listeners why this era of hybrid club music remains so influential: raw, playful, and tinged with futurist weirdness.

Label founder Antoine Sy steps in with a Mystery Remix, flipping Caligari’s quirky blueprint into something sleeker, dubbier, and distinctly his own. The remix hovers in a shadowy space between Electro and Dub House, injecting low-end weight and spacious delay while retaining the track’s original eccentric DNA. A spooky sonic aura hangs over the arrangement, creating tension without tipping into parody - this is dancefloor hypnosis with a sly grin.

By revisiting this gem and offering a sharp, contemporary perspective, Arpanet demonstrate their knack for honoring history while pushing it forward. Antoine Sy’s remix doesn’t just remix the past - it refracts it through the present, giving "Blue Shit" a second life in today’s underground.

Hey there!! I'm Laion, 99% producer and 1% DJ - for very special occasions mostly! I've actually been a DJ way before producing any kind of music, and learnt the ropes directly on vinyl, in a very different register though - my first love was with reggae! Production came quite a bit later, first with thePhilosophica, with whom we had our first encounter with Sinchi Collective for a couple of releases. We also released on labels  like of AEON and Melopee Records, besides a season on Rotterdam-based Operator radio. In 2023, I started my solo project, aiming for the fun of the dance floor and the catchy (cheesy?) melodies. And only this way could I release an EP fully dedicated to my girlfriend's dog. Hope, a whole way to go. Kindness. Solidarity. Whims.
Onamiel was the birth of the cycle, and was ruled by
youth and the predominance of hope in hard times,
kindness and solidarity, but also the vagaries of the
early age.

How did the meaning of the tarot card inspire the journey of this mix?

What spoke to me most about Spring – Onamiel is the sense of new life, fresh beginnings, optimism, and positivity. As a brand new father, I immediately thought of my daughter — how joy can start with something as light and simple as a smile, and how playfulness and learning naturally go hand in hand. With that in mind, I built this mix around tracks that celebrate our playful and joyful sides, bring moments of comfort and feel-good energy, and carry a hopeful sense of what’s still to come.
