Radikal Tune é um programa que será transmitido mensalmente, com a apresentação de sets com uma roupagem retrô de sons nostálgicos e atemporais, que atravessam os períodos dos anos 80 a 2000.
A ideia é baseada em construções com faixas que dê a sensação de adrenalina e dança intensa, visualizando cenários inspirados nas raves de galpão e festas ilegais.
Para a estreia do programa o residente Apsū fez um set com estilos que variam do trance, tribal house, techno rave e break beat, produzindo uma vibração ácida e magica.
“Esses tunes radicais escolhidos são de uma pesquisa que venho desenvolvendo a dois anos, e são músicas que tenho uma relação profunda e me fizeram enxergar o mundo e a nossa vida de um jeito diferente. São músicas que me fazem questionar a realidade e me fazem olhar para o céu e para a terra com indagações profundas sobre o agora, o passado e o futuro. Com essas músicas tenho aprendido a lutar, e quando danço coloco para fora o meu jeito de batalhar pela minha sobrevivência.”

“Mauro aka “DJ Saliva” is a multi-talented artist, working as a painter, visual developer, labelmanager and DJ. As the label-manager of Herrensauna Mauro is curating the trademark visuals and artwork of the brand, label and it's events. Next to being a Herrensauna resident, Mauro is as well the founding member of Porto based queer party "Arena Spa Superiora". 
Musically DJ Saliva brings together a hybrid fusion of old school & hi-tech new school sounds. From up-tempo electro & breaks to trippy & hypnotic tribal materials."

"Fado, mellow whispers, beth gibbons, psychic tv, melancholic guitars, final fantasy, lee gamble, unreleased songs of mine and more.

The tittle of this mix was inspired on Inês de Castro, a Galician noblewoman who fell in love with Prince Pedro of Portugal while he was married to Constança of Castile. After Constança’s death, Inês and Pedro lived together, which alarmed the court. Fearing her family’s influence, King Afonso IV ordered her execution in 1355. After becoming king, Pedro took brutal revenge by having Inês’s killers executed and their hearts torn out. The Quinta das Lágrimas in Coimbra is traditionally believed to be where Inês was killed or wept before her death. The Fonte das Lágrimas (“Fountain of Tears”) is said to still bear the stains of her blood.

I’ve released many dance mixes, but this one is for the mornings when we wont leave bed — to sunlight peeking through blankets, to the purges, the tears, the retreats, and the quiet return to lullabies and sad songs for recovery."

LA ISLA CON CHICAS

In the early to mid nineties, Portugal went through its very own dance music explosion. Clubs like Alcântara-Mar and Kremlin in Lisbon (with DJ Luis Leite and DJ Vibe as residents, respectively) or Rocks and Industria in Porto were the epicenter of that movement. Labels like Kaos put out vital records by local producers and party crews organised raves of epic proportions in monasteries and castles - this eventually attracted international buzz, with one British publication using the expression "Underground house music from a paradise called Portugal" in an article. That's where Paraíso, the name of José Acid a.k.a. Shcuro's brand new label, comes from.

José Acid belongs to a generation of DJs who weren't quite old enough to live the Portuguese rave era first-hand and instead got to know it through visits to record shops and whatever info he could catch on TV or on the radio. But the naive, minimalistic take on Chicago house, NYC tribal grooves and even early trance that was crafted in Portugal at that time stuck with him until the present day - that's why he founded Paraíso: a label, radio show and party that aims to rekindle the original flame of Portuguese dance music from the 90s.

For the first release on the label, he recruited some of the most active producers in Portugal's new generation. The record opener, 'Infesta' by Internal NY Rhythms (also known as Trikk, who's released on Optimo Music, Man Make Music and more) is a raw, melodic cut, punctuated by percussion that transpires tropicality. Emauz, one of Lisbon's most interesting new producers, delivers 'Pitched' - her debut on vinyl and an energetic and original belter, with a beautiful driving bass and effected claps and cowbells. On the Flipside, Violet (One Eyed Jacks, Rádio Quântica) delivers an unapologetic ode to early trance with 'Eternal fountain', all dreamy arpeggios and snare rushes, while José Acid's 'No Ego' injects the addictive, beautiful 303 sound into the equation, creating a sonic love letter to the pioneers of the very brand of raw, emotional dance music that inspired Portugal to have its own movement.
