Celebrating the sounds of Japan, Viper are proud to present the first ever' Land of the Rising Bass EP'.

Featuring 7 brand new tracks from a variety of Japan’s hottest talent and curated by Futurebound, 'Land of the Rising Bass EP' is packed full of the darkest, dirtiest side of Drum & Bass giving an enviable taste of the club scene in Japan.

Kicking things off, YASUKI & mimiiQ team up for “Chase The Light”, a futuristic record with a funky and pulsing beat that is sure to blow heads clean off.

Next up, DJYOUTH brings a slightly lighter sound to the mix with infectious vocal chops amidst a vibrant soundscape before dropping into pure jump-up infused carnage – “Without You” is as catchy as it is bass face worthy.

Keeping the energy high, Mountain’s “Warn You” is equal parts ominous and enchanting, with a sinister build-up leading to an even more sinister drop. A dancefloor destroyer in every sense, the bar is set incredibly high.

DJ AKi teams up with Yellock on the massive “Destruction & Rebirth”, with mesmerizing vocals drawing the listener in before exploding into a fast-paced, hi-octane drop that will decimate any dancefloor.

Maozon’s “Escape” follows, another dancefloor destroyer made to be played at full blast on the best underground sound systems the world over. The euphoria of classic dancefloor DnB meets a much darker side for another seriously heavyweight tune.

Azumai’s “Guilty Of Murder” then presents a haunting opening, slowly building up in suspense and atmosphere before delivering a sinister sci-fi-esque drop that chills to the core.

Closing out the EP, Seventhrun’s aptly named “Bouncy” delivers blazing, bold energy – a final taste of Japan’s formidable club scene and the perfect end to this hard-hitting release.

With 7 tracks all delivering absolute carnage, 'Land of the Rising Bass EP' is certainly not for the faint of heart. Viper are proud to represent the sounds of our DnB brothers and sisters in Japan and to celebrate the talent of the Viper family the world over!

Introducing the second ever solo release from Soldat, in the form of a double-sided single. 2 dancefloor weapons of a melodic influence, serving as love letters to other styles within dance music and Drum & Bass itself.

‘RAVE CITY’ takes inspiration from classic French house and is translated into a funky roller, fitted perfect for a DJ set or for the early-noughties rush of a listener. The use of house loops throughout the track is supported by punchy drums, groovy basslines, classic drum & bass risers and a sublime breakdown - all rolled into one for an ultimate disco sound.

‘2097’ pays homage to a late-90’s liquid jungle/drum & bass sound, more specifically in an area that’s described as ‘playstation funk’. Hidden away as a project file for 6 years, Soldat unleashes a more laid-back roller fusing elements of jazz samples, classic breaks and deep double-bass notes.

Nine years after the release of their pivotal ‘Halo’ E.P on Viper, DC Breaks are revisiting two of their oldest and most well-loved releases, ‘Mankind’ and ‘Halo’. A celebration of the duo’s long and incredibly successful career that has seen releases on Viper, Ram, Virgin and more, DC Breaks return to the label where it all started for something really special. 

‘Halo VIP’ is a reimagining of their debut EP’s title track, maintaining the powerful atmosphere of the original but making it bigger and better than ever before. In revisiting the classic tune, the duo have been able to amp things up a notch, blasting their way through 2019 with this killer dancefloor weapon. By going back to their roots and using everything they’ve learned in the past decade, DC Breaks are able to deliver such a special, seminal release that will attract old and new fans alike. 

‘Mankind 2019’ is another shining example of how far DC Breaks have come since its initial release. Capturing the energy and feel of the original, DC Breaks have infused a plethora of new sounds and techniques into the mix for a result that is exciting and fresh while still paying homage to their roots. Although DC Breaks certainly set the bar high with their initial release in 2010, the duo’s creativity and skills have unquestionably reached new heights. 

While fans of drum & bass are often treated to VIPs of their favourite tunes, it’s not often a talent as prolific as DC Breaks is able to respectfully reimagine not just one, but two timeless tunes, in the way that DC Breaks have managed to. Following the recent success of Freshold's (Insomniax) solo outing V7 Saxon Street EP comes the second part of his tribute to London’s infamous Sanctuary and its old school rave origins. 
‘How Does It Feel’, now the third taste of the thematic album, delivers grungy, grime-esque verses and tribal singing, setting a visceral tone for the carnage to come. Fusing together soulful, organic highs with gut-wrenching, floor-rattling lows, Insomniax have delivered yet another fitting tribute to the old school rave days with a modern punch. High energy, fast-paced, and astoundingly creative, this one is sure to be another favourite for DJs and fans both old and new. 
'London Soul' opens on a much more ominous note, creating a foreboding soundscape with an intricate layering of sounds before those familiar jungle drums kick in amidst the fog. Sultry vocals weave in and out of rhythmic drums and amen breaks, transporting us all back to our younger days with seemingly magic charm.

With two more treats from Freshold, there is no doubting V7 Saxon Street prt 2 is set to be a seminal record in the Viper catalogue, seamlessly fusing old and new in a way that will be remembered for years to come.
