LIMINA writes music that makes you want to dance, or cry. Occasionally both at the same time, in a good way.

A pop electronica project from producer/singer-songwriter/composer and video director Ian Chia, LIMINA infuses ingredients of R&B, funk and electronica into phosphorescent pop, Moving between thresholds of joyous expression and inner contemplation, the music references the rich heritage of 80’s and 90’s pop while shining a reflective lens on the experience of life in the 2020s.

I think that music is the fourth dimension, where every note can represent a step towards impossible places and unique sensations.
I am a self-taught composer, I like electronics, but made with the heart, the only part I kept of when I was human.
I compose step by step, playing every single instrument through keyboards, I don't use loops, patterns or other samples, but I create all my sounds by myself, mixing and final mastering.
I also like to create graphics and logos.
From 2016 I attend a course of professional Mastering and HD recording with the Italian school of music FDM.
From 2019 my music is distributed through the Italian record company GixMusic
My first album on date 01.01.20 has entered the iTunes® Charts Top Albums Dance on position 112 in United Kingdom and 29 international labels released as many of my songs in their official compilations.
On 02.04.2020 my second album was born, born from the precious collaboration with international artists who have combined their talent with my style, remixing some songs of the previous album of the undersigned.
I also had the honor of collaborating with Italian professionals in the sector such as Gixhouze, record producer and thick artist, DJ Lore J, the singer of the Hypnol group who lent his wonderful voice and the drummer and founder of the historical group of Neon ( https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neon_(gruppo_musicale).

Nik Hamby lives in Brisbane, Australia. He plays guitar, bass, drums and sings.

Nik started writing songs in 2019 and began releasing his work in early 2020. His music is lyric-based and has been described as acoustic pop or folk bordering on rock. 

Nik has extensive experience working with young people, including injecting drug users and incarcerated juvenile offenders. His sense of social justice is felt in much of his music. 

Nik’s music has been well received by various social media groups. One of his tracks was included in the podcast “Songwriters and Original Songs” (episode six).

Nik is looking to release his first album later in 2020 and possibly do some live work also.
