Español
España goza de una historia musical muy antigua, amplia y de gran calidad artística, tanto que aún seguimos escuchando música que se compuso hace 200 años y más. El cancionero popular español es de tal magnitud que ha sido utilizado por infinidad de compositores de muchos países para hacer sus versiones. La lista sería interminable, pero por citar sólo unos pocos:

· Arcangelo Corelli: “La Follia”
· Mijaíl Glinka: “Cappriccio brillante sobre la Jota Aragonesa”; "Obertura española nº 1" ó “Recuerdos de una noche de verano en Madrid” que más tarde volvieron a orquestar músicos de la talla de Rimsky-Korsakov y Aleksandr Glazunov
· Mili Balákirev: Hizo una versión formidable de nuestro himno Nacional (Marcha Real): “Obertura sobre el tema de una Marcha Española”
· Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov: “Capriccio espagnol”
· Emmanuel Chabrier; “Rapsodia Española”
· Maurice Ravel: “Rapsodia Española”, “Minueto Antiguo” y muchas otras obras, ya que era de ascendencia española.
· Ludwig Van Beethoven: “La Victoria de Wellington” que incluye canciones que aún se cantan en fiestas populares.

· ¿Qué decir de Georges Bizet, cuya ópera “Carmen” es casi totalmente música de Raíces Españolas? dándose el caso de que la melodía de su Habanera “L'amour Est Un Oiseau Rebelle” es una copia casi exacta de “El Arreglito” de Sebastian Iradier Salaberri (el mismo que compuso la archiconocida habanera “La Paloma”). Bizet se defendió arguyendo que creía que se trataba de música popular española, como tantas otras que utilizó.

· Franz Liszt, “Rapsodia Española”, cuya parte más popular es la misma que anteriormente utilizó Glinka en la mencionada obra “Recuerdos de una noche de verano en Madrid”, que también podemos encontrar en “La Boda de Luis Alonso” de Gerónimo Giménez. Yo mismo también la he vuelto a utilizar en “El Motin De Los Gatos” (versión cantada) y en “Madrid” (versión instrumental), ambas también se encuentran aquí publicadas.

· Más recientemente, Leonard Bernstein utilizó una Petenera para su conocido “I Want To Live In America” en la película “West Side Story” cuyo Palo Flamenco también he incluido en el II Movimiento de esta Sinfonía.

Así, dada nuestra enorme riqueza musical, yo tenía cientos de motivos para emprender un proyecto sinfónico basado en nuestro Flamenco, cuya colosal variedad parece no tener fin.

Espero que este trabajo sea del agrado de quienes lo escuchen.

Spain has a very old and extensive musical history of great artistic quality, so much so that we continue to listen to music composed 200 years ago and more. The popular Spanish songbook is of such magnitude that it has been used by countless composers from many countries to make their versions. The list would be endless, but to name just a few:

Sinfonía 1 - "Sierra Morena" - Rafael Serrano

May the planet of love bestow a relaxing meditative state for you to rise.

Lots of synths - bass arp, pianos, reverb and acoustic guitars, orchestral basses, cello, and French horn set to hip hop and Latin beats at 75 bpm.

I played French horn as a child from age 10-18 in a public school concert band and later marching band. So I added a brief French horn passage with cello in a short classical treatment to herald the arrival of Venus and a nod to the Renaissance painting of the Goddess of Love.

Will music change if I change? Even if I change the music, I won't change. I don't have enough songs to make music that is high-quality and has a rich aroma. Symphony dedicated to the Sierra Morena; Mountain chain in the south of Spain with an impressive history and also legendary as a participant in countless legends. It is also the land of origin of the author of this Symphony.

This Movement II of the “Sierra Morena” Symphony is based, along with my contribution, on two very popular Flamenco Palos of great artistic beauty: "Guajira" and "Petenera". Their basic melodies are colossally precious, brought new life by joining a Symphony Orchestra.
For the development of this work, the fact that the two Palos alternate a 6/8 beat with a 3/4 beat has been a predominant factor when choosing such a set. The melodic possibilities of both are so notorious that Leonard Bernstein already used the basic rhythm of the Petenera in West Side Story, specifically in the song “América” where anyone with light notions of music can observe the secuence of 6/8 and 3/4 bars with total clarity.

Este Movimiento II de la Sinfonía “Sierra Morena” está basado, junto con mi aportación, en dos Palos Flamencos muy populares y de gran belleza artística: La Guajira y la Petenera. Sus melodías básicas son colosalmente preciosas, las cuales cobran nueva vida al unirse a una Orquesta Sinfónica. 
Para el desarrollo de esta obra, ha sido un factor predominante a la hora de elegir tal conjunto el hecho de que los dos Palos alternan un compás de 6/8 con uno de 3/4. Las posibilidades melódicas de ambos son tan notorias que ya Leonard Bernstein utilizó el ritmo básico de la Petenera en West Side Story, concretamente en la canción “América” donde cualquier persona con ligeras nociones de música puede observar con total claridad ambos compases de 6/8 y 3/4.
