In Holland many people hope each winter for freezing weather. When wind turns east skate lovers get nervous and watch the weather report closely. 
As soon as the ice is thick enough on ditches and lakes they can’t wait to put on their ice skates and go for a ride. 
When you are one of the first on skates, the ice will set and crack under the pressure of your body weight. Especially on big lakes the sounds that are produced this way are wonderful and so familiair for anybody who experienced it.

On Youtube we found a very funny guy, Tor Eckhoff from Norway who shares the same fever for cold weather and ice. Besides his very funny movies he recorded exactly these sounds of cracking ice that are so fascinating and inspired us for this audiotrip on ice. We have asked him to use some of his soundtracks and he was so friendly to share them with us.

Superhumanoids: Music To... Freak To

Its time for that midweek wind down once again. This week we are graced with the sultry sounds of Pittsburgh-bred zen, as provided for by the young, deeply talented, Tülpa. At 15 years old, he has already mastered the art of bridging the gap between soulful and minimal, and we are pleased to welcome him to his very own slumber session slot.

"I've been in Ukraine for the last two months, and what really inspired this mix was what I'd listen to while I was drinking coffee downtown.  I'd just gaze out the window sipping on a latte, and damn it tasted good. So that's how I want this mix to sound... an assortment of tasty, chilled tunes for your down time."
