Mit 16 Jahren fing LIA an zu rappen, mit 17 hatte Sie Ihren ersten Plattendeal und stand bereits mit Top-Artists wie Kool Savas, Azad, Method Man und Sido auf einer Bühne. Ihr erstes eigenes Album veröffentlichte Sie mit gerade mal 20 Jahren (Künstler wie TUA und Sprachtot gaben hierfür Ihren Support).

Joy grew up with an Italian father and an Camaroon-American mother, blending two cultures to create a perfect mix. This "mixed life" outpours in her fashion style and musical influences, listening to Frank Sinatra to Diana Ross, to Blondie and David Bowie as a child. 

Joy discovered her knack for the stage at age 5 in her first theater musical. She continued to perform in musical theater and started writing songs at age 8, and has now collaborated on numerous projects around the world with producers and artists.
