Duwayne Motley's house music bona fides have few equals. Over the years, the prolific Charleston-based DJ and producer created exceptional sounds for the likes of Salted, King Street Sounds, Glasgow Underground, and quite a few more. "Come Get Me," Duwayne's 2009 release on Nervous Records upped the ante, receiving much acclaim and being selected for Nervous Records' best of compilation, Nervous House 20, mixed by CJ Mackintosh. Viva Recordings was among those who took notice and released Duwayne Motley's collaboration with Zandrina, "Gave Up On Love," in 2021.

Now Duwayne returns to Viva for an exhilarating house music statement, "Saturday Night." A chunky four-on-the-floor club bounce leads to sparkling layers of keys, strings, and staccato plucks as an uplifting vocal, once again from Zandrina, praises the virtues of Saturday night. This one is pure disco dynamite, beaming energy straight to the dancefloor in the form of percussive laser fills. Duwayne has also handily provided a Dub that takes the groove into deeper realms, looping and filtering the main keys while building the other elements smoothly on top. This one's a definite future staple for weekend peak time.

The original flows like a deep house dream as floaty pads, an old-school bass line ride, and subdued house beats support Becka's emotive vocals and lyrics. Drawing upon the tradition of soulful house and R&B and blending it with lush production flourishes yields one serious late-night gift. The dancefloor is the ecstatic recipient. While throwing LA's HAWT underground parties, Mikey signed his first 3 EP's to Luke Solomon & Derrick Carter's Classic Music Company in 2013. He has compiled a versatile discography of productions and vocal releases on labels such as Classic Music Company, Paradise, Robsoul, DFTD,  Snatch!, Hot Creations, Toolroom, Strictly Rhythm & Dirtybird.
Mikey has also collaborated with industry heavyweights such as Riva Starr, Oliver Dollar, DJ Sneak, Phil Weeks, Blakkat, Wheats, Brett Johnson & Nathan Barato.

India's deep house don Hamza Rahimtula has joined forces with HMNI Music impresario Cantos for an electric Viva Recordings single, "Return to the Feelings.." The release leads with the instrumental Dub, owing to the pair's allegiance to the DJ's sonic domain. A jazzy drum shuffle immediately signals that this cut is something a little different for the dancefloor, before a rolling sub-bass riff and sparkling chords come on the scene. A glorious half-time breakdown, furthering the jazzy predilection, transmits a moment of half-time bliss before the track builds to funky new heights. Founded in early 1998, the goal was to consistently put out records that would be loved and played by many in the house music community. Viva Recordings found success with its first debut from Johnny Fiasco and the with Rick Preston's Altruism EP, which gained notoriety when "Spring Fling" was featured on Mark Farina's San Francisco Sessions Vol.1. From these early releases the road was paved for Viva Recordings' success. Over the last few years we have been working on personal projects but now have decided to bring the label back and take the Viva name back.
