Following their acclaimed collaborations ‘Renegade’ in 2023 and ‘Surrender’ in 2024, Parallelle and Nicolas Masseyeff return to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels with a third instalment of their evolving partnership on the imprint. Titled ‘Shake It Out’, the release arrives in the heart of summer and showcases two original productions from the Dutch-French trio, alongside a vibrant remix from US rising star Airrica.

Dutch brothers Parallelle and French mainstay Masseyeff share a deep-rooted musical connection, honed across years of collaboration and a shared love for expressive, forward-thinking electronic music. With past releases on labels such as DGTL, Systematic, Rose Avenue, and Masseyeff’s own Diversions Music, the trio have built a sound that’s rich in detail and driven by emotion, combining analog warmth, live instrumentation, and club-ready energy in equal measure.

A fusion of sharp production and live sensibility, ‘Shake It Out’ leads with layered drums, psychedelic stabs and a commanding vocal that urges listeners into motion. On the B-side, ‘Everything’ delivers a more stripped-back and introspective mood, with hazy textures and wonky sonics for the late hours. Joining the package is Airrica, making her return to Crosstown following 2024’s ‘Hi Speed Lover’. Her rework of ‘Shake It Out’ adds a new dimension to the original, dialling up the energy with crisp percussion, pulsing acid-dipped low-ends, and warped vocal treatments that inject a driving twist into the hypnotic groove.

A powerful continuation of their Crosstown Rebels story, ‘Shake It Out’ finds Parallelle and Nicolas Masseyeff refining their shared sound once again while welcoming another exciting talent in Airrica back into the label fold.

For the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Stereo Productions, we have an extraordinary project in which Chus himself has chosen his favorite producers to remix three of his most iconic studio productions: ‘El Amor,’ ‘World Routes,’ and ‘Black Rain.’

But the relationship didn’t start there. Read our full story:
Emiliano (AKA Uru) Haberli and Bryan Coletta are the names behind the infamous duo Sparrow & Barbossa. Uru (Barbossa) was the original percussionist in DJ Chus & Joeski’s ‘El Amor’ back in 2003. The stars aligned when Chus got in touch with the duo after they reached #1 with their Yeke mix, one of Chus’s favorites. Now, 20 years later, Uru has crafted the drums sequence again. Bryan (Sparrow) is a pianist and comes from a musical family. His father is the legendary guitarist Francis Coletta, who worked with artists like Whitney Houston, Quincy Jones, and Frank Sinatra. 

‘El Amor (Sparrow & Barbossa Remix)’ 
The Pirates duo has kept the original essence of Caterina’s sensual and enraptured Brazilian voice blending in perfect harmony with the timeless bossa nova bassline. Uru rebuilt the percussion section, giving it an extra samba-esque breeze; meanwhile, Bryan plays the afro synths with new sounds that rouse emotive reactions.

‘World Routes (Sparrow & Barbossa Remix)’ 
The original track was one of the most significant pillars of Iberican Sound, colored with plenty of organic elements. This gem takes on new skin with Sparrow & Barbosa bringing in afro rhythms, dense basslines, and a tribal house atmosphere while keeping the sensuality of the ethnic vocals, imprinting a confident message of joy and celebration.

‘Black Rain (Sparrow & Barbossa Remix)’ 
Black Rain is one of the most mature and profound of Chus’s works, based on the planet’s origins and the ancestral influences of his music. This Eden of organic elements builds a cinematographic soundscape in which the duo preserves the roots and emphasizes the bassline, capturing the original’s natural strength in an eyes-closed epic.

The pioneering Spanish label founded in Madrid by Chus & Ceballos in late 1999 has established itself as one of the most successful and stable platforms in the electronic music industry. Its success and permanence in the international market confirm that. Among its great achievements are having exported a 100% own and recognizable sound, having achieved an enviable level of implantation in the American market, having discovered and promoted dozens of talented artists and having held events of its own across the world. Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more.
