Mickey starts the New Year with another great anthem. 'You Know The Beat' is a mixup of 90ies French House, combined with a classic old school American House Vibe and Groove. Think Cassius meets Todd Terry. 

We saw Mickey, as a newcomer, growing on the label Exploited. His releases 'Sweet Baby', 'Holding Hands' and 'Walk Away' are topping our label's bestsellers of the year 2014. His track 'Sweet Baby' was among the Top 10 best selling tracks at Beatport in the genre Deephouse. Next to his Belgian residency at the infamous 'Libertine Supersport' nights, he travels all over the world to rock the crowd with his energetic DJ sets.

He just finished a remix for Australian 'Modular Label‘ stars 'Bag Raiders' and is currently in London working on his next single.

Until 2010 @hauswerks (aka Colin Barrat) was one of the unsung heroes of underground dance music in the UK, engineering for many established names including Doorly, Mark Knight, Daley Padley, Sonny Wharton and more.

This past couple of years has seen Hauswerks become established as an artist in his own right, delivering a volley of releases on the ever rising UK based label Moda Black, and cementing himself as one of their core artists.

As summer looms just around the bend, we’re gearing up for another great festival year. First up is WMC, and while we won’t be there in the flesh, we’ll be there in spirit with a spectacular Miami House Sampler featuring Timmy P, Stefano Esposito, Ian Jay, JP Chronic and +1.
From beautiful sunset vibes of Timmy P’s ‘Movement’ we move to darker nights with ‘Deeptronic’ from Stefano featuring deep chords and dirty crescendos. Ian Jay then throws a heavy beat directly into the mix with a high-pressure classic atmosphere of ‘Take No More’. Getting a bit more playful, JP Chronic utilizes organic percussion infused with bongos to support the steamy vocals of ‘Make Me Burn’. And to close our sample, +1 takes us on a deeper journey rich with pads and a rich, dreamy atmosphere. To mark 10 Years of Wow! Recordings, Mar-T’s renowned label have announced a very special limited edition vinyl only release from British juggernaut Subb-an. It follows a string of top releases on taste-making imprints like ​Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings​, Cabinet Records and his very own One Records. Subb-an making his debut on the Barcelona/Ibiza based outfit, leads with 'Do It'. He is joined by label fave Hector, who remixes 'Do it' on the B side. Subb-an tops the release with a track that you can catch only on When We Dip today. Blending that signature punchy kick drum with an all-consuming low-end element, he's crafted yet another scintillating groover. And... as with tradition the vinyl comes strapped with a dynamite terrace mix.

Matt Tolfreyʼs Leftroom continues its run of form with ʻFreeze Trackʼ from Sam Russo, a four track EP featuring a rare remix from Jay Hazeʼs Fuckpony project.

While Leftroom ended 2011 with the Beatport No.1 Maceo Plex remix of Laura Jones, rounding off an impressive run of releases that caught the ear of just about every DJ ʻnameʼ there is, Sam Russo has been no slouch either. 

Cementing his reputation as an accomplished and open-minded DJ, Russo warmed up at Londonʼs Fabric more than any other non-resident in 2011 as well as playing his brand of house across Europe. As a producer, he continues to build on previous output for FullBarr, Fear of Flying and Leftroom with ease and his forthcoming imprint and collaborations with Craig Richards will undoubtedly create a stir.

Half broken beat and half house, ʻFreeze Trackʼ sees Russo play with the blending of sounds in the same way as his DJing allows. Using a staccato bass and rock solid drums with just a handful of other sounds to create a moody but infectious groove, the London-based producer turns in a track that displays his deft ability to deliver contrasting rhythms and vibes with ease.

The eerie, skipping groove of ʻCold Handsʼ follows with an uncluttered, warm yet disparate combination of leads that provide plenty of textures and tones to draw the listener in.

ʻBus Fourʼ closes the EP in original and Fuckpony Remix for form. Russoʼs original, a titular insight into his love of production technology, is perhaps the most straightforward house cut from him on ʻFreeze Trackʼ EP but is no less engaging. Drawing on his love of deep house and garage, itʼs a smooth ride into robust grooves, dubbed vocals and shimmering chords.

Jay Haze, friend of Leftroom, philanthropist and DJ/Producer, dons his Fuckpony cap and twists ʻBus Fourʼ into a dense, fluid house track complete with a brilliantly executed tempo hike in the intro that will no doubt be used to full effect by the more creative DJs out there.

Leftroom has, sensibly, got big plans for Sam Russo in 2012 but for now the ʻFreeze Trackʼ release is a fitting aperitif.
