After a territory drilling, playing tons of gigs, here is the debut album, as a manifesto from the multi-instrumentist and dedicated to experimentation artist : Alban Mercier.

Few years of traveling, digging and engraving the materials and influences, Alban is a perpetual-movement, a never-ending quest far from any boundaries, or fences of the genres.

This multi-talented artist merges in this full-length many of his influences from ritualistic wishpered musics and mythisicms from autoctones communities from far east to the early industrials dubish sonorities and rythms such as a Scorn could produce if he was producing, still.

He drawn and cut the lines of this 8-track album and recorded them with the help of our beloved Paulie Jan at Agit Prop Studio late summer 2022.He also offers the artworks in order to give an object from its own. Very personal and dedicated.

Greg Hates Car Culture (20th Anniversary Edition remastered)

Greg Hates Car Culture was Venetian Snares' first ever vinyl release. Long out of print, it came out in 1999, as the third release on Minneapolis label History Of The Future. 

Aaron Funk's hallmarks were there from the start. His absurdist sense of humour, the razor sharp edits and his use of odd time-signatures. There is a rawness here, not often captured on later records, where you can imagine Aaron playing live in front of a room full of young breakcore fanatics. Indeed most of the tracks here were recorded live, tweaking his effects and EQ  on the fly, to DAT from his Amiga.

The album opens with "Personal Discourse", recorded in 1997, which samples Aaron calling into a Dominatrix live on community cable TV, while "Fuck A Stranger In The Ass" samples from the film The Big Lebowski. The track "Aqap" has a different sound to the others having been recorded later, in 1998, on Aaron's first PC. We have also added three hitherto unreleased 1997 tracks to this reissue. Two of them "Eating America.." and "Punk Kids" appeared on Venetian Snares rare self-released 1998 cassette Spells and the long sought after "Milk" was only passed around by his friends.

We were very surprised at Versatile when we received this file from Flocofloco2020@gmail.com. And we still have very little info on the track that was there. “On m’a dit…” by Floco Floco is a lofi afro-disco stomper hailing straight from the new ghettos created by confinement. Something had to give and we are glad that Floco Floco, whoever he is, has chosen us to ease his lock down mind:

“I’ve been told to stay at home, on WhatsApp all day long, working in the studio, reading books I haven’t read, I hope it won’t be too long, I don’t know if I can hold, smoking weed day & night, like never I have been before”

Not a message, just a statement (and a big phat groove).

Martin Jenkins, more commonly known as the artist Pye Corner Audio, epitomizes Lapsus' commitment to cutting edge sound experimentation. In 2017, he beguiled the electronic music community by releasing the 'Where Things Are Hollow' EP, on Lapsus Records. Now we are delighted to announce the release of ‘Where Things Are Hollow 2’, consisting of three brand new original cuts and a breath-taking remix from none other than John Talabot.

'Where Things Are Hollow 2' explores a spectral and hypnagogic terrain, establishing an electronic sound that at times invokes Jenkins’ more dance friendly facet -'Self Synchronize', 'Weather The Storm'– while also offering his familiar iridescent dreamlike ambient textures –'Phase B'– that featured prominently on his first EP.

This second EP also includes a remix from John Talabot, unquestionably one of Spain’s most internationally recognised names over the last decade, who exquisitely reimagines 'Resist' -a song from the first EP-, transforming it into a cross between EBM and hypnotic techno.

From a graphic design perspective, renowned artists Alex Trochut and Basora have once again collaborated on this project, repeating the formula that made the artwork for "Where Things Are Hollow" such a collector's item.
