2 The Future Is Blight

Oli at Radio TFSC asked us to take part in Couchella 2023 by submitting a couple of acoustic tracks, so rather quickly (for us) we jumped into "the studio" and threw together the five tracks you now see on this EP. We even managed to coordinate with our friend Alison Johnson who sang Her Crime for us, so she repeated her incredible performance, and then lent her vocal and percussion skills to the rest of the songs too.

We haven't put a whole lot of effort into this release to be honest, but we thought the quality was good enough that we could use it as a release. However, we've not set the price very high so please don't feel compelled to pay over the odds for it. Same as always, we just hope you enjoy it.

Ambient sitar & tabla music, loosely inspired by the classic Dixieland standard, 'Tiger Rag' (well, only the name really).

It's another older track, maybe from late 1999 or so. The sound quality of the tape recording is not that great, but I more recently (in 2022) added a bit of reverb effects in a few parts to punch it up a bit.

I remember when I was first working on this, I started with the tabla drum pattern and tampura drone, which I liked so much, I left it playing all night and woke up to it the next morning and pretty easily came up with the main sitar theme. Maybe the drums inspired something in a dream, who knows...
