The Story Behind the Track
Letters from the Library is set in the quiet hours of the stacks, blending warm Rhodes chords and the sound of pages turning with a deep, modern Trap-Soul 808 pulse and vinyl crackle.

This track is an intimate response to the unprecedented rise in book bans, which recently surged to thousands of instances across the country. The song is for those fighting to ensure that all voices—especially those representing the lived experiences of marginalized communities—are preserved and read. We believe the freedom to read is fundamental to exercising our democratic rights, and that every person deserves to see themselves reflected in the pages of a book.

Happy May! Here's a Halloween song.

Ok in all seriousness though, this song was so much fun to work on (besides when I died spending a month trying to mix this thing) and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to be on a Sonata album! I hope you enjoy the song, because I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

The only reason this turned out as good as it did is because I had help from awesome people. Nessa came in to save the day by mixing and mastering the song, and she even helped spruce up the composition a bit. You have no idea how bad the mixing would have sounded had she not stepped in to help. Also, Vienna Sorenson drew an amazing illustration for the song! Seeing all the WIPs was a big factor in motivating me to actually get this song done. Lastly, thank you so much to Yin-P, because I have no idea how to use Utau and I would never have been able to make the tuning sound as good as he made it. Basically, I'm baby, and I'm so grateful for everyone who helped out.

This is my first silly song in almost exactly two years (does anyone remember The Blade? lol) so I'm excited to post such a lighthearted song. There's no deep meaning to this song, it's just about a witch being all bitter than no one appreciates her magic tricks.

Anyways, thanks for watching and reading this 12:30 AM ramble. Please support the album as well as everyone else who participated in the album! Everyone worked so hard and all the music and art turned out so amazing.
