There had been signs but nobody noticed. The country was on a roll. It had been ten years since the war that was to end all wars had ended. Banks had money and were ready to loan it and people didn't ask about the interest rate. Lucky Lindy had flown across the Atlantic from New York to Paris in less than thirty hours and suddenly the world seemed smaller. Prohibition, the great experiment with liquor, was losing it's luster. It was a time of marathon dances and exuberant joy. But there was a day of reckoning just around the corner.

The Great Depression

For Jack... the beautiful boy with the lionheart... that left us too soon. There's going to be a million days and a million ways to say how much we love you and miss you. Until then.. and until we see that golden hair and those shining eyes again... we will sing of all the wonderful shades of him... and of all his colors and stories... that fill our hearts and shine through the cracks and make the world... and us... a brighter shade of Jack.
