One of my great disappointments in life was applying to Harvard Divinity School for my Masters and not getting in - but this podcast may have redeemed the Divinity School at Harvard....  I have both a bachelors and a masters in Theology, but in the last 20 years or so, I have been out of the field completely.  I recently discovered psychedelics as a modality of dealing with depression and anxiety, and have become fascinated by their intersection with spirituality and religious experience.  I found this podcast to be incredibly interesting and thought-provoking - it may have inspired me to revisit my early academic life through the lens  of psychedelics

Episode 2: Thy Rod and thy Staff they Comfort Me

These songs were written in 2017 (the cover is a rare picture of drunk me at the time), which is when I started to realize I was very likely not a special snowflake and I had to stop complaining about things not always going the way I want, yet that's exactly what I kept doing - to whine about things not going the way I wanted - but, in a brand new indie pop fashion rather than long text messages. (How exciting.)

The production process was very long and boring as I was always changing bits and lryics. After completing the recording in 2019, it got to the point I was fed up with them and put them aside, focusing on other musical projects with my friends (which you can find here on the Collettivo page as well).

I do still believe the songs are quite dumb, however: lately my friend Loup said he wanted to listen to them and gave me a very long and deatiled feedback to convince me there's no reason why these songs should not be available online after all, at least some of them (three out of five, the other two are just too silly), despite their limitations. He's right I guess, so here I am uploading this. I also owe it to all the people I've involved in this and bothered with my demos for years - sorry guys, I'm sure you'll forgive me now that you are mentioned in the "thanks to" section below!

Charles Stang, Professor of Early Christian Thought and director of the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard Divinity School, is our guest for part one of our multi-part series, The Psychedelic Moment, where we speak to thought leaders within the modern world of psychedelics and psychedelic psychotherapy. 

Stang and Harvard Divnity School have partnered with Esalen to create a series of free online lectures that examine the psychedelic renaissance. Today, we spoke about the so-called first wave of psychedelics, and how the Harvard Divinity School played its own crucial role, as well as the importance of the mystical experience in achieving positive therapeutic outcomes in psychedelic trials, "divine darkness" and how that affects a psychological reckoning, how somatic practices, apart from any intoxicant, can traditionally bring on a mystical experience, the use of sacraments in the ancient mystery religions of the mediterranean, and much more.
