Opening is often the hardest slot. Your job is to curate the vibe of the night, gradually move the party from the bar to the dance floor, get the crowd amped for the rest of the night, and seamlessly land the plane for the next DJ without going too crazy on energy or BPMs. If you play bangers but everyone leaves once you’re off the deck then you didn’t do it right.
