Forty-two months can be a lifetime in the rapidly changing world of dance music, but the 3 ½ years since Maya Jane Coles’ previous Mobilee release, 2011’s “Beat Faster,” has seen the UK DJ/producer accumulate unprecedented accolades from all corners of the dance music sphere, from magazine covers and reader poll placement to premier league bookings and regular play by her esteemed house music peers 

Having seamlessly transitioned from buzz-heavy newcomer to perennial favorite, Maya returns to Mobilee with three tracks in her unmistakable style, one that has only become more potent with practice on releases by Dogmatik, Hypercolour, Jackathon Jams, 20:20 Vision and her own I/AM/ME label. “From the Dark” picks up perfectly where “Beat Faster” left off, with the addition vocalist Moggli only adding more spice to the bubble tech house stew. Proof that as fast as Maya’s star has shot, there’s still plenty of sky left to travel.

Emerald City, the newest label venture from Jamie Jones and Lee Foss delivers a majestic second release with a new collaboration between Jamie Jones himself, DJ/composer Kate Simko & London Electronic Orchestra featuring the vocals of Jem Cooke. 

Kate Simko launched her London Electronic Orchestra project in 2014 and have since sold out concerts at the Britten Theatre, National Gallery, and opened the iTunes Festival 2014. Featuring live instrumentation from harp, violins, cellos, and upright bass, they create intimate atmospherics and indelible frequencies in ‘One Time Game’, a beautiful classic that is paired with a raw 909 club mix. Kate Simko and Jem Cooke first teamed up for their hit song ‘Go On Then’ that topped the charts in house music in 2012, and subsequently released tracks on Get Physical and No. 19.  Jamie invited Kate to play at his Boiler Room in Ibiza last summer, where ‘One Time Game’ was first performed alongside a string quartet and harp. The track was finished in London at Jamie’s studio.

Widely regarded as the leader of the new sound of house, Jamie Jones is renowned for his pioneering music; his cross genre band, Hot Natured; his ground-breaking label, Hot Creations; and his world-renowned event series, Paradise.

Kate Simko has carved an international career as an electronic music producer, film composer, live performer, and DJ. Getting her start on Ghostly alongside Matthew Dear and Ryan Elliot, Kate has since released on Get Physical, Hello?Repeat, Leftroom, and No. 19, and was named one of Chicago’s Top 10 DJs by XLR8R. This fall Kate has an album upcoming on Sasha’s label Last Night on Earth, and her debut London Electronic Orchestra EP on the Vinyl Factory. Jem Cooke is a singer-songwriter from London, recently signed to Sony ATV through Naughty Songs.The artwork was created by Peter Nudo who was also used for the previous Emerald City release.

Berlin based Mark Henning continues a series of self released 12”s on his own imprint Swing Recordings. Next up is a re-issue of two of his most famous bassline-heavy tracks to date - Trojan and Sin City plus a new unreleased track.

Trojan (originally released on Cityfox Records) sold out very quickly, was never repressed and can only be found on Discogs for silly money these days. Meanwhile Sin City (originally out on Soma Records), co-produced with Japanese Producer Tokuto Denda a.k.a Den, was never pressed on to vinyl in the first place.

Henning fans now have the chance to get these two tracks on wax as well as a bonus track Bang Bang; a Juno bass inspired slab of techno funk.

Tipped as a one to watch for 2012 (Mixmag), Iranian/Canadian producer Amirali’s debut album is truly exceptional, a subtle combination of house, techno, funk, electronica and downbeat with indie sensibilities. The album is reminiscent of Depeche Mode, Radiohead, Underworld and Art Department all through a modern electronic paradigm. Amirali features on vocals on the album and is already being widely, regarded as one of the most accomplished debut albums of recent years.

His recent single ‘Beautiful World’ (featuring remixes from Deniz Kurtel, Daniel Bortz & Hrdvsion) was met with rapturous appeal gaining an ever-increasing legion of fans. ‘In Time’ is a fantastic body of work, from the hit singles ‘My Way’, ’Beautiful World’ and ‘Just An Illusion’ to the down tempo ‘Painting On A Canvas’ and ‘Last Words’, the album is full of beautiful sonic vignettes.
