Hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida, Grow (@adamgrow) is a renowned producer and DJ who embarked on his musical journey in the early 1990s. Founder of CHP Recordings in 2007, his debut vinyl release, "Electronik Milk," gained significant recognition within the electro community. Additionally, Grow co-founded the band Ohverclock alongside Kounterakt from Code Rising, resulting in multiple album releases. Grow's distinctive style encompasses cleverly processed vocals, powerful basslines, and haunting synthesizer elements. CHP Recordings has been ramping up production tenfold as of late adding new artists to their roster, and celebrating repeated success on the Beatport electro chart. Mark Starr returns with his debut solo EP for Grow's CHP Recordings - delivering two acid tinged electro cuts after releasing a string of heavily supported remixes for the label.

Both tracks draw on his unique stripped back style dripping with acid, electro, and Floridian influences that culminate into two heavy hitting tunes for this appropriately named EP.

'Body Control' focuses on hypnotic vocals balanced with gritty synth work, while 'Unique Freak' contains stylistic nods to his South Florida roots and serves as an ode to letting loose in the club, with your art, or whatever it is you do best.

Exactly one year after my 2023 release entitled 'A Love Letter To Synthesis', I return with a collection of 15 new tracks that were produced between the middle of 2023 and early 2024.

This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic synthesizers/drum machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, JX-8P, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to my studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-707, MicroFreak, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.

Volsoc is an American electronica project, consisting of Justin Maxwell and Jean-Paul Bondy. The project formed after a series of collaborative live performances in the Southern California rave scene in 1999-2000. Combining their individual monikers, Stupid Octave Cat ("soc") and Volum, the two first recorded under this name for the 2001 Abduction Productions compilation, "SCR.COMP.002". They were originally approached for further releases for Exzakt's Monotone USA label, but released their first 12" on Germany's World Electric. This debut vinyl release earned them immediate international recognition in the Electro and Breakbeat communities, and the title tracks, the slightly electroclash "Compuphonic Intelligence" and minimal "Shout Out" became two of the most popular electro tracks of 2002-2003. This EP, as well as their subsequent one on breakbeat producer Si Begg's label Noodles Institute of Technology, serves as an archetypical release for the nu skool electro genre.

Volsoc ceased further songwriting in 2003 upon Bondy's departure for Berlin and Maxwell's relocation to San Francisco.
