Aimed at providing a different insight into dance music the label Special place provides both acoustic and electronic sounds that are not sonically linked to a specific era, but all carry a shamanic or esoteric hinge. This EP is just that with the three amazing artists Mushrooms Project, Longhair and Eric Duncan all bringing their own take to this leftfield slomo disco to house vibe. It’s an honor to have them on board!

You gotta love Eric Duncan. Such a laidback, fun and easy going chap! After having turned NY upside down he currently resides in Bali when he's not touring amidst the pandemic. He actually remixed this track whilst in Brazil (how does he do that?). He probably has the vastest collection of selfies with DJ Harvey if this means anything. Berlin based Longhair has a string of releases on labels such as Bordello A Parrigi, Permanent Vacation or Love On the Rocks. He actually does sport long hair and probably has a third ear for turning music into untameable beat dance fury. And what about our hosts Mushrooms Project? Well they paved a solid catalogue with their characteristic shamanic house music releases, go check out for yourself!

Moisk aka Pletnev & Fourmi Rouz delve into the depths of psychedelia soundscapes with their latest release “Tetris Life’’ on Terra Magica Rec. The duo skillfully balances modular sounds and shimmers through acid synthesizers with their signature style. Offering a wide range of sounds from uptempo half-beat to raw, energetic techno-trance, inviting you into a mesmerizing sci-fi universe. The EP features tracks like “Tetris Life” and “A Glass of Coke with Ice”, that explore underground ambient deserts and immersive jungle improvisations. This is followed by dark and slow breakbeat cuts that transition into faster-paced, floating atmospheric IDM tunes. The 12’’ contains many choppy old-school loops and uptempo trance breakdowns, as in “Orange Button’’ and “Wrong Stability”. Featuring two weird dub/IDM/breaks remixes by Anatolian Weapons and HSDJs x Listensport to round off the wax. Don’t sleep on it!

Two volumes of remixes crafted by brilliant producers who reinterpret the various and rich musical material of the vinyl “ FIRE feat Adrian Sherwood ” recorded during the live performance where the Fire Crew met the Dub Legend. 
Kaleidoscopic viewpoints from heterogeneous sound worlds that further expand the horizon of a record that is already a journey in itself. The cover contains a precious gem: the strips of tape that dub master Sherwood placed on the mixer to define the channels during the live performance. The same tracks were used by the remixers for their reworks, adding unique extra layers to this extraordinary collaboration.

Paradise + acid = Paradacid. Paradacid is a two-part EP that blends the gritty sounds of 303 and 808 machines with the euphoria of warehouse raves and the ambiance of virtual landscapes and Final Fantasy soundtracks.

This EP combines introspective tracks from periods of isolation with uplifting ones from moments of release, offering a diverse sonic experience without pushing a narrative. It's up to the listener to find their own meaning within the vibrant mix of old and new.

The essence of "Paradacid" lies in its name—a blend of paradise and acid, symbolizing the fusion of blissful soundscapes with the sharp, distinctive edges of acid house and electro.

A synth obsessionist/musician who has put out inventive disco sounds in NEIN, Logical and Phisica among others and a resident DJ of the “rotate party” at “Bar Americas” in Mexico are the few ways “Cabizbajo” (@cabizbajo) expresses his musical identity. For his recent 3 track EP, he returns to La Volta Ros (@lavoltaros) imprint with remixes from “Dan solo” and “DieJungle” (@diejungle).

Our favorite track out of this distinctive EP is “Cueva”. The original is run through a dirty acid mid-range which is adjoined by a hollow rugged bassline and a mystic synth melody, while “Die Jungle” has converted the original into a real chugger, with rock licks and prying bass that really locks you into the groove while upholding the twisted disco vibe.
