Is There a Progression From Rapist to Serial Killer, Vonda Pelto Talks About Jeffrey Dahmer: Vonda Pelto, Ph.D. who is a Clinical Psychologist and spent over 3 years dealing with a number of notorious serial killers, is asked by Sancho Jones, host of Thunderstruck Radio, about whether there is a progression from rapist or other crimes to serial killer.  She says maybe, but not always.  

For example, Jeffrey Dahmer, wanted homosexual sex but then ended up accidentally killing his victim with drugs and then ended eating them after killing them.  A pretty weird progression indeed.  He, like all other serial killers, did not feel any guilt about his crimes and probably didn't realize the suffering he had caused his victims.  

Obviously Vonda never had any contact with Dahmer but serial killers do display various characteristics that are common and one of them seem to be progressing in cruelty to keep the thrill and rush in tact.  William Bonin went from enjoying the torture and raping of his young boy victims to basically getting more thrills about of the act of strangling them to death, a sad commentary indeed.
