Surviving with Serial Killers in Los Angeles Men's Central, Confessions of Trash Bag Murderer, Vonda Pelto on Thunderstruck Radio: Early in the two hours interview of Vonda Pelto, Ph.D., Without Remorse: The Story of the Woman Who Kept Los Angeles' Serial Killers Alive, is asked about the transformation from sweet, young Southern Baptist girl with two kids to this rather fascinating and salty woman so many decades later?  She says her three years counseling serials killers and criminals transformed her because she had to, of course, harden her attitude to verbal abuse, hearing stories about gruesome murders and sexual crimes from those who did the job, the very tense atmosphere of the largest jail in the world, Los Angeles Men's Central Jail, and just surviving the job.  

To demonstrate this point she tells the radio talk show host about  meeting someone involved in the Trash Bag Murders at the Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles.  He didn't commit the murders but was forced to stay in the room while the perpetrator took the bodies into the bathroom and hacked them into pieces while screaming and freebasing the whole time.  He was scared to death this psycho would turn on him so he played ball and, quite luckily, survived to tell Vonda Pelto the story.    

This person was nervous and agitated, which made hearing the story even worse.  During the conversation she had to excuse herself because she felt like throwing up.
