Since opening, FOLD has become a prime destination for a marathon dance, given its 24-hour license, safe space policy and forward-thinking curation. They recently announced the launch of their new in-house label, a further extension of the sound and aesthetics they have become so loved for. Their first EP is from resident, Gareth Wild.

Finding his formative education in the 90’s rave scene, Gareth's ears became attuned to a particular repertoire of dancefloor sounds from Jungle through to Techno. This has in-turn matched well with the FOLD family. His forthcoming release via the new label, titled 'Common Assault' EP, feels reflective of the dancefloor energy of 'UnFOLD'; an event organised in-house by FOLD, where the decks are positioned at the center of the dancefloor allowing for maximum connection between DJ's and dancers. 

Raucous, unrelenting yet equally enchanting, title track 'Common Assault' embodies the raw energy of 'UnFOLD'. The pounding 4x4 is carried in swirling currents, the dissonance as much claustrophobic as it is infectious to the waist-line. A track that could easily be mistaken as terrifying, 'Common Assault' is in fact a perfect example of effective, multi-layered techno. Rigorous, yet warm, assured to sweep you away in its wake.

On a choisi pour vous la track de Jan Loup (@janloup), artiste Toulousaine que nous avions déjà repéré avec sa track sortie sur un V.A de Petrole (@p-trole). Hyperactive, et hyper talentueuse, on peut explorer les différentes dimensions de son travail via les labels et collectifs Acolora (@acolora), Aïra (@airatoulouse), Chineurs de Toulouse (@chineursdetoulouse), Toulouse Gouffre Club (@toulousegouffreclub) ou encore Lyl Radio (@lyl_radio) avec son émission <3 MANA-MACHINE <3 . Jan Loup prend soin de retranscrire les émotions au travers d'expérimentations sonores qui ne connaissent aucune limites. Oscillant entre IDM, ambient et bass music, chaque sortie est une surprise et un bonheur pour les oreilles. 
La track Aram Ashes ne déroge pas à la règle. Rythmes erratiques et synthés envoutants nous transporte dans une autre dimension. Notre corps entre en transe, notre cerveau s'abandonne à la divagation et quand s'achève le morceau, il en redemande encore et encore. 
Vous l'aurez compris, Jan Loup est une artiste à suivre de très près.

Hyperactive and super-gifted, we can explore the different dimensions of her work through the collectives and labels Acolora (@acolora), Aïra (@airatoulouse), Chineurs de Toulouse (@chineursdetoulouse), Toulouse Gouffre Club (@toulousegouffreclub) or Lyl Radio (@lyl_radio) with her show <3 MANA-MACHINE <3 .  Jan Loup takes great care at transcribing emotions throughout sound experimentations which know no limits. Oscillating between IDM, ambient and bass music, each release is a surprise and a source of happiness for the ears.
The track Aram Ashes doesn't break the rule once again. Erratic rhythms and enchanting synths lead us to another dimension. Our body goes into transe, our brain gives itself up to divagation and when the track ends, it asks for more again and again. 
You will have understood this, Jan Loup is an artist to follow up closely.
