Austin Schend received his bachelor’s degree in music composition from Pacific Lutheran University in 2019. During his time at PLU, he studied composition under the direction of Greg Youtz and the mentorship of Richard Nance. His pieces have been performed internationally and on the radio; and he has composed for world class ensembles such as the Choir of the West and the Junges Consortium Berlin. Austin maintains a robust piano teaching career in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington.
