Visionquest-native Clarian’s icy-cool ‘Inuit’ kicks things off with a super hypnotic groove… the perfect soundtrack to an acid-ice-fishing trip gone right and an optimal DJ tool for the very early or very late hours. 

Berlin-resident and Canadian ex-pat Hreno (Fur Trade, Autochtone, etc) is next up with ‘Tree Trunks,’ an expertly assembled rhythm track built on top of a bubbling bassline sure to get the party rolling.

The Trances ep on Hivern Discs was one of my favourite records of 2014, so I was very happy to have the chance to remix it. 

I brought the tempo down to 116 BPM, restraining some of the abrasive elements to make a lower-slung version that is a bit easier to play out.

I gave up on this one because it was too 'white' and I couldn't imagine ever wanting to be seen playing it. Now's the time when you tell me I was wrong and crazy and it's actually making you groove away from your computer terminal and into the outback of your mind.

Global psychedelic dance dons Multi Culti deliver an astrologically advanced compilation series in two parts: SUN GAZE & MOON FAZE.

Spread across six EPs beginning March 21st (just after the Spring equinox), the full yin yang comes out on the summer solstice, June 21st , in digital double helix and as a crazy-limited, painstakingly-artisanal edition boxed-set, with fabric sleeves, embossed tin casing, and secret psychedelic party survival kit.

What are you waiting for? Go on, jump in. The water is warm and a liquid paradise awaits. The poolside was a place of elegant sophistication, ladies watched hazily from loungers as gentlemen swam beaneath the lush blue ripples. Over by the bar the music could be heard pouring from small monitors, it echoed blissfully through the open air and travelled beyond the walls of the palace. All is well for what lies within but over the wall, a perilous plague had began to unfold. They remained happily ignorant inside the palace whilst the world fell to turmoil. 

Red Axes have developed a notoriety unlike few others. In recent years they have powered through the ranks releasing music on the likes of Permanent Vacation, Crosstown Rebels and more. They have amassed quite the reputation. Now they are joined by friends from far and wide on a remix EP for Thomas Von Party's Multi Culti label. A remix pack is nothing more than the universe experiencing its own dance music subjectively. With this in mind, we took Ecuadorian sound-seer Nicola Cruz’s latest audiovisions and refracted them through the minds of some of the world’s hottest young cultural interpreters. To provide you with the best possible approximation of what the results feel like, we then sent an intern to loiter outside a local Heart-Opening Ceremony to get people’s unfiltered reactions just moments after they awakened to their new place in the universal order.

Known for his 13-minute remixes, ambient SoundCloud sleep aids, and globally-hyperconscious DJ sets, Australian wizard DREEMS joins life partner Von Party on the title track, smelting 303, dessert drones and bells in his Australian wizard’s cauldron. 

“Kamp Krusty,” meanwhile, is a collaboration with Lithuanian-Israeli nomad DJ OI that features fat brown-snake bass line, the ambulant percussion and bleeps scatter over the groove. Dope. Bats. Oi !

Things get deeper on “That Acid From Nimbim,” as “random hippie friend” Luka provides a vocal that channels Francis Bebey via the Northern NSW coast. 

“Bilbio Bush Baby” sees DREEMS re-team with Jagma - a pairing not seen since the very first Multi Culti release - for a mate-a-thon that races past the horizon and directly into the Sydney sunset. 

Finally, Argentinean excursionist LUM offers a tranquil, early-morning rework of “Kamp Krusty” that envisions a possible future beyond the fiery culmination of the aforementioned break-of-dawn mate-a-thon.

Rising out of the white-hot scene that is Lithuania's Opium, Siaubas are a Vilnius-based trio with a sound that is deeply influenced by musical mentors Manfredas & V. With a track on the forthcoming Opium compilation, scorching edits on CULTED and Power Cuts, as well as a killer remix for Drugface, set for release this spring, these young producers are likely to become fixtures on the underground Euro-chug scene for years to come. We were fortunate enough to host them in Berlin after their appearance at Opium's massive takeover of Wilde Renate.

It all began with a bag of weed in Monterrey. Thomas Von Party and Daniel Maloso jamming in the studio, emerging with an idea that took the form of a lucid dream that could not only be tamed, but shared. Maloso, the Mexican Bruce Wayne, inspired TVP to reimagine his favourite 60s TV theme song as a punchy Chicago party jam. The demo was later arranged in Montreal by genius UK-pop icon Kane West (of Kero Kero Bonito fame), with the vocals redone by Wolf & Lamb protegé and self-proclaimed sex addict (to be confirmed) Pony. The completed track found its way into the hands of a random few DJs (Chaim and Thomass Jackson, among others) who gave it cult-like status by dropping it in their sets to the frustrated delight of shazam'ers the world over. Two years later, the naff vibe has matured to a fully ripened state, finally dropping on Easter Fool's Day, 2018.

It’s a welcome change to see the dance music industry shift from a sausage fest to a decidedly more diverse scene of artists and DJs. As an A&R guy, it’s been a source of frustration that I haven’t signed more non-dude talent. In my defence, 95%+ of the demos I’ve gotten over the years have been from men or boys, but I’ve realized that perhaps following the example of an A&R hero like Matias Aguayo, I could do more to dig and encourage women to get more involved in the little community I build with my labels. With that in mind, I’ve got a few releases in the works with some incredible women and am happy to announce this EP today, on International Women’s Day, because not only does MISS REPRESENTED indeed check that gender box, she is a total original, a woman of experience and knowledge, she bucks all the trends and has a fearless, powerful voice. She’s not a kid with inflated instagram numbers and a manager, she’s someone who has lived her life in the dark corners of the music scene and has a story to tell. If there’s one thing dance music is guilty of, rightly or wrongly, it’s escapism, and a refusal to confront real issues and subjects. On those rare occasions where a dance track holds overt meaning it’s SO powerful and memorable, and while these aren’t conventional peak-time tracks, they’ve definitely got groove and they’ve got a message. I could go on and on, but without further ado, here’s a sneak preview of the B2 cut from the next release on my new label PARTY CENTRAL.

It's a welcome change to see the dance music industry shift from a sausage fest to a decidedly more diverse scene of artists and DJs, one where challenging and marginalized voices can be heard.

MISS REPRESENTED has such a voice, raw and fearless, an educated woman of experience, who has lived her life on the dark side of Scotland's acid house scene, where she has found plenty of food for thought.

Their retinas burning into the back of her head as she passed by sheepishly. It seemed her small discrepancy last night was now the talk of the village, it had entered the rumour mill and there it would stay until another youngster did something deemed worthy by their elders of disapproval. With little else to discuss, here lies spread quickly, morphing into drastic untruths fabricated in the most obscene ways.

Spawned during a trip to Lima, Turbo Recordings and Multi Culti co-founder Thomas Von Party's newest outing sees him join forces with Dominican TV presenter and singer Mera De La Rosa, who provides sultry Latin vocals. The first single to be taken off his forthcoming mini-LP, the low slung sleezy house beats of 'Ritmo' get the remix treatment from Mexican producer TYU, an in-house alternate TRANS version from TVP himself, and a final reinterpretation from Decius, who take the original into darker realms with low rumbling subs and frantic percussion.
