Creased Beats - Golden Feats

Hot Creations unleash this years Summer Anthem in the form of Jealousy by Funky Fat. Brazilian foursome Funky Fat are back with an unmissable summer release on Hot Creations featuring remixes from the mighty Jamie Jones, Horse Meat Disco legend Severino and rising underground star Hanfry Martinez, all lending their magic touch to the title track. Funky Fat were first seen on the label with the ‘Masochist EP’, their joint venture with fellow Brazilian stars Digitaria, which received critical acclaim across the board for its fresh fusion of electro, disco and pop. Fans of the release included the likes of Solomun, Sasha and Claude Von Stroke.

The band is comprised of Thiago Guimarães, Gui Santoro, Rafael Cury & Manu d´Alcântara from Belo Horizonte, Brazil and together they’re bringing their sexy, vibrant sound and infectious melodies to the global scene via Hot Creations.

Hot Creations Label boss and Hot Natured member Jamie Jones delivers a killer remix of ‘Jealousy’ for late night action, cutting the vocal into snippets and working around the infectious bassline with his own crispy hi-hats and rolling drum grooves.

Delving into darker more techy realms, the unstoppable Hot Creations imprint welcomes M-nus favourite Heartthrob with ‘Odyssey’ – two original cuts straddling the boundaries of house and techno, filled with glacial atmosphere, moody melodics and serious dance floor drive.

Steaming in with a powerful pumping bass and dense, mischievous chords, title track ‘Odyssey’ is a tech-house dream of the highest stature. Metallic drips echo in the deep waters, while pacey percussions soon creep into the mix, rolling a tight and trippy rhythm. Spacey electronic keys swell and rise through the top tiers creating a cosmically charged hypnotic wave, which is destined to swarm your senses.

Moving into darker territory, ‘Liar’ sets off with heavy-duty bass, subtle claps, shakes and deep, moody keys. MISS REPRESENTED has such a voice, raw and fearless, an educated woman of experience, who has lived her life on the dark side of Scotland's acid house scene, where she has found plenty of food for thought.

Co-produced by Thomas Von Party of Multi Culti and Turbo Recordings A&R, who enlisted the talents of Kris Baha and Matt Karmil to mix, and brought in the elusive UK-underground legend Johnny Aux to rough up the already rugged Crack That Habit into an extended house banger.

If there's one thing dance music is guilty of, it's escapism. A refusal to confront reality. None of that here. Calling out a culture of lies, empowering female sexuality, facing the perils of addiction, and speaking of the resilience of the human mind, this is heady stuff for the rawest of parties.
