Joel Mull's career spans over three decades. With a background studying classical music, singing in choirs and playing in bands, Joel found electronic music at a young age as a source of freedom. His frst experience came from DJ’ing in the chill-out areas of rave parties in his native Stockholm during the early 90’s. With his roots from Germany, Hamburg, he moved to the city in 1994, and worked as a resident DJ for 3 years at one of the biggest techno clubs in Germany, Unit Club. This was an important period for him and as a DJ; It learned him how to control the energy of the night on the dance foor, from warm up sets to 10h marathon sets. With releases on music labels worldwide along with Cari Lekebusch, Robert Leiner, Adam Beyer and Jesper Dahlbäck he counts to the frst wave of Swedish techno producer who became known around the world as the "Swedish techno sound". He has produced over 100 releases and under various names such as Icarus, Gotzkowsky and most recent under his alias Damm. He often refers to himself and his craft as a sound architect, and if you’ve ever experienced his club sets, you’ll understand why. Under his ambient and electronica alias Damm, Joel revives one of his earliest aliases and expands upon this discipline even further.

The next 12 incher on Wrong Era is made by Marching Machines, a duo made of two Belgian powerhouses: Dimitri Andreas and Spacid. Their love for electronic machine manipulation and their musical history that spans over 2 decades, built an excellent foundation for this brand new project. “Lonesome” is a slow burning dark electro track with howling and gloomy synths that flow into acidic tendencies. “Desolat” continues on the emotional path of the previous track, embracing solitude on a broken rhythm, ending up in arpeggiating classic and cosmic italo track. In succession of that, there’s “Driven” which moves up to dancefloor dynamics by using harder and raw sounds, combined with an analogue pulsewave sound generator and building into a release of energy with wavy synths and smashing snares. The final track is a remix of “Lonesome” by one of Wrong Era’s label bosses Fabrizio Mamarella. While the original idea is still intact, the remix is a definite bigger and faster version, implying a stark contrast that still remains powerful, perfectly made for the dancefloor.

New Earth is the debut EP of a promising talent from Belgium. Kato De Vidts delivers five tracks of leftfield downtempo, with laidback rhythms and graceful melodies : an ambient bliss progressively changing into a beat-driven eerie excursion.

When the gates open, FIRST SIGNS welcomes the listener with chilled melodic percussions, soon joined by oriental pads, grainy bass and acoustic drums, leading him through the windy plains of this new-age world. 

The spacious atmosphere of REALM OF NO-MIND, its vibrant strings thrilling over the deep waves of the bass, provide an ethereal touch to the score and invite to further explorations. 

The trip gets forceful with INEVITABLE REFLECTION: following an intriguing loop, the voyager drifts away to a dramatic scene where a spellbinding melody is hovering over rolling snares and stomping bass drums. 

In KON, the journey extends to more urban scapes with a stealthy kick knocking hard and a synth whispering close to the ear, backed by a gloomy bassline menacing in the shades of a reverberated room.

REVERSAL OF TRUTH finally operates the paradoxical reunion of hope and dread, through the peculiar elegance of a distorted bass stabbing alongside an off-beat kick drum.

STARDUST Mark Broom's Mutated Mix

Voxter started playing records in 1997. During his first year, he played more commercial records not knowing what techno really was, but soon became clear techno was the coolest thing he has ever heard.
Getting the chance to play at club Fame alongside dj Valyom and Dimitri Andreas at the age of 12, was a big musical step for him. At age 13, young Voxter was playing alongside Marco Bailey and T-Quest (Better known as Dr. Lektroluv). From that point on, promoters offered him more and more bookings.
Voxter started to organise his own parties together with his partner in crime (Balance). The first Area 51 party (15/09/2001) was a success. They never could've imagined then what the future would bring for this concept. A lot of international artists (such as Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, Dj Rush & Joel Mull, to name a few) have played at Area 51.
Voxter’s style is best described as dark techno with a lot of depth & energy.
