For his Voyeur Music debut, "The Preacher" is a track with a hidden idea.
 
This introducing pack includes various re-interpretations and alternative versions from different remixers in all genres. Dorian Craft delivers a big room & techy Remix, while Parisians from the Fatoumata duo offers a more spiritual one, with a particular afro touch. L.A's Thomas Toccafondi made a version full of lights for a late after party on a beach, Kley brings his Mental Ibiza experience, "Un Deux" rocks it into a Chocolate Funky traduction, which becomes totally Nu:Disco. And for the frosting on the cake, an early friend of the crew, the legendary pioneer Paul Johnson brings his famous Chicago tapping touch, in a spiritual synth way.

Patsada Records has aimed their house music radar at Sofia, Bulgaria to discover up-and-coming producer Darko Janevski. Born in Macedonia, Darko has previously provided his funky brand of house music for Epoque Music Electronic and on a number of compilations, and these two new cuts for Patsada truly signal a talent on the rise. “Doing It” is a classy house number, building hypnotically over its nearly eight minutes with sharp, rhythmic sounds and filtered vocal loops. This one is perfect for that peak moment in a long after-hours set. “Specimen” follows, delivering a fresh track on a jazzy tip. The drums have a good bit of swing, and a bouncing bass line creates forward motion. Cool chords and vocal snippets further help place the cut firmly in the DJ’s queue. As a bonus, Patsada’s Miss Mee is on hand for a slammin’ remix of “Specimen”, adding big stabs and raising the tempo just a tad. Smart rhythmic cut-ups of the spoken vocals and a prominent low end combine in an appealingly energetic mix. It’s official: Darko Janevski’s new single brings the goods.

We were deeply saddened by the events that occurred in Paris on Friday.  Our thoughts right now are with the people of Paris, a place that is so dear to our hearts.  Music can be an escape through these difficult times and that is why we decided to do this free giveaway with Sebastian Mullaert of his seminal Ovum release "Chant de Paris", a composition which was inspired by this great city.  In the words of Victor Hugo "Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent."

Now is the time to chant for paris! and Ovum is doing so by sharing the track ”Chant de Paris” for free. 

The tragedy in Paris last friday is a tragedy for everyone. Why this happened is beyond my understanding but I know that all of us and how we live has an effect on how the world looks today. We all share the responsibility for the pain and the happiness in the world; today probably more than ever before in the history of human kind. A common phrase by people in Sweden who don’t want more refuges in Sweden is; ”let them deal with their problems in their own country, we can help them there but why should they come here?”. When I hear that I like to answer; ”who grow your food?, who sewed your jeans?, where does the gasoline in your car come from?, who made your smartphone?" and so on! 

But what can I do in Sweden to help the pain in Paris or Syria??? (or anywhere else where these tragedies is part of daily life). 
I really feel that there is only one place where the change can take place, and that place is always with you … it is you, it is consciousness. I tell myself to stay open, whatever comes up in my awareness, both on a mental, emotional and physical dimension. Stay here! Watch what is happening, watch what’s ”coming up” or ”passing by” … may it be emotions, thoughts, visions, physical manifistations or anything else. Some things are pleasant to watch and some things are terribly hard to watch … but stay, stay here, stay open! give your space and your consciousness to See and Heal, heal You and everyone else. And when the moment comes for you to act, act from this place, act from the place of understanding, compassion and love and I believe that your actions will be part of the change for a better world. 

I’m writing this mainly to myself, and I believe it’s important to remind myself about this but don’t take it wrong … I really don’t know anything and don’t listen to me if it doesn’t resonate with you.

Fouk, comprised of schoolmates Daniel Leseman and Hans Peeman (aka Junktion), first caught our attention in 2014 with their First Things First debut on Output. The Dutch duo then followed it up with releases on Room with a View and Detroit Swindle's Heist. They now deliver their fourth EP, Gruff, on London-based House of Disco Records, where Fouk now join a roster already boasting Francis Inferno Orchestra, Psychemagik, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Monitor 66 and more.

The title track and our favourite off the release, "Gruff" is an amalgamation of all funk music's greatness – a walking bassline underpin, groove-fuelled guitar licks, heady melodies on a wah-wah synth and dreamy vocal snippets. A healthy tribute to old-school funk in a modern-day format fit for any dancefloor.
