While born and raised in South Africa, Byron Luke Manchest Noemdoe has made his current home Boston. Growing up Byron was just like every kid in his Cape Town neighborhood, he loved to play soccer & rugby. After spending his high school years being a great asset to the provincial rugby team, Byron reconnected with his first love, music.

Noemdoe’s impressive melodies and harmonies were founded at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School at the age of 9, where he trained under the top classical vocalists in the country. At the choir school Byron performed repertoire from timeless composers such as Mozart, Haydn & Bach who all later proved to be an influence on Noemdoe’s musical identity.

After leaving the choir and starting high school Byron began to listen to who now are some of his favorite artists such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder & Abdullah Ibrahim. At 17, he flew himself to Boston for one of the biggest auditions of his life, now resulting in his attendance at Berklee College of Music where he’s studying a bachelor’s degree in songwritng. Noemdoe writes melodies & harmonies which are reminiscent of his early classical music training fused with a natural influence of traditional South African music, Motown and 21st century electronica. Family life in Cape Town and the hardships of living in a post-apartheid South Africa have grown to be the roots of Byron’s musical inspiration.

Byron sees the world we live in as a union between technology and nature, to him we can’t have one without the other. Some people may believe that the essence of music has be lost to digital production & the advances of technology in the music industry but Byron has a vision for his music music that is a marriage of both soul acoustic music & electronica of the 21st Century, forming 2 musical identities he dubs: “Soulcoustic & Soultronic.”

Noemdoe is enjoying life and working hard every day to become the artist he has always dreamed to be. Byron looks forward to what the future holds. By God’s grace and blessing Byron will share the message of Love & Peace with the world.
