Leonardo Silva aka L-Side, hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, is one of the leading lights of the V Recordings family. Always coming with a distinctive style whether showcasing the deeper, or dancefloor ends of the D&B spectrum. Back with his first full solo release since 2018's incredible 'Carnal Minds' LP, he returns to the label in fine style, showing his time away from the limelight has not been wasted!

The Void EP comes hot on the heels of remixes for Jungle D&B legends Krust and Dillinja, and with a new track with Sl8r riding high in the charts. Three tracks packed full of vibes and dancefloor power. L-Side goes it alone on ‘Get Down’ and ‘The Void’, two infectious, techno infused rollers, and teams up with V regular, and Soul In Motion co-founder Need For Mirrors on ‘Resist’, which is the perfect marrying of their two styles, rounding off this collection perfectly.

From 'V Classic' to 'Planet V' and beyond, the V Recordings camp have been scene leaders in creating era-defining, zeitgeist-capturing compilations. And, following on from the retrospective 'Foundation' project, it's now time for another chapter in the story - 'Future'

Bryan Gee, widely known as one of the most influential selectors and A&R men in the business, has taken his time to compile and curate something that's more than just another album. This is Bryan's personal vision of what's to come, not only for the V brand, but for Drum & Bass music as a whole.
Never swayed by fashions, fads and sub-genre divisions, Bryan and Jumpin Jack Frost's family of labels have been a benchmark for quality from time immemorial. So, when they call this album 'Future', that comes with authority.

For V Recordings, the future is as much about building on what's come before as it is about brand new innovations. So, we see contemporary masters like Benny L, Voltage and L-Side pay homage to the classics with remixes of Roni Size, Ray Keith, Krust and Dillinja. Artificial Intelligence go back in on their anthem 'Uprising' to give it a cutting-edge reconfiguration, and Dr Meaker's 'Fighter' gets the S.P.Y treatment.

Then there are the 2020 visions of artists from across the spectrum of Drum & Bass music. Bristolian Stephen Redmore, known through his drum & bass alias Mako, is finally set to unleash his forthcoming LP on Metalheadz, something which he’s been working on behind the scenes for some time. The label head of Utopia is well known for his slick production and penchant for underground anthems, something which has been seen again and again on his own imprint, as well as across a plethora of labels which have acted as pillars for the drum & bass world. Having already made his presence felt before within the catalogue of Metalheadz, as well as Break’s Symmetry Recordings, Dispatch, Soul:R and Samurai Music, he’s a valuable part of the genre’s make up, which is why the announcement of his forthcoming LP ignited widespread anticipation.

Directly translated to ‘a body of art’, Mako’s LP ‘Oeuvre’ is representative of his life’s work in music production. The switching breaks of ‘Heartstone’, slamming, yet eerily hollowed snares of ‘Offline’ and grinding bassline of ‘Life Cycle’ alongside the late Andy Skopes, a testament to the legacy he left behind, set the tone. Meanwhile, Villem and Fields join Mako for the LP’s next collaboration ‘Liquid Groover’ before the emotive swelling build of ‘The Window’ gives way to a second drop beat switch up, continuing the journey. ‘Flip it’ has already been doing the club rounds, as the moody Photek atmospherics of ‘One Reality’ and more affectional twists of ‘Holding You’ adds to the tracklist’s versatility.

‘The Scenic Values’ underscores Mako’s love of Krust and Doc Scott production grooves, whilst the experimental soundscape of ‘Hoxton Home’ heralds back to old Lemon D. ‘Oh Really’ finishes the album’s more club-orientated offerings, which follows with a 170bpm techno style track via ‘Passive Aggressor’. ‘Oeuvre’ is a walkthrough of Mako’s many personalities as a musician and it finds a welcome home within Metalheadz’s historic discography.

Hailing from Moscow Russia and already certified artists in the drum & bass scene for some years now. We at Nemesis Recordings are proud to bring to the fray the mighty ‘Green Vibes’. These boys have been on our radar for some time now, with releases on labels such as Formation Records, Liquid Brilliants, Elixir and Citata Forms, It’s safe to say that these guys are mother Russia’s Key producers. But we have finally hunted the lads down and got them to make us a monstrous single entitled “Underground Gangster’.

Luscious intro gets this track started while the soft blend of guitar stokes and funk comes tumbling at you with a steady pace. Hold on, wait for the build up, bang! We give you ‘Underground Gangster.
Hard stepping beats are met with rumbling bass notes with funk as this solid groove moves like a building swaying in a earthquake.
