Command Stranges' latest release flips the script once again and finds this talented and prolific producer team up with a host of exciting artists for the Lifetime EP. 

Perfectly striking the balance between deep, emotive, rolling Drum & Bass and tearing bassline workouts Alexey once again sets himself out from the crowd. 

This EP isn't a lone effort though, with label mates Alibi on hand for the majestic 'Skyline' and rising star Satl on the buttons with him on 'Life' alongside Pouyah on vocals there definitely is strength in numbers! These two co-labs sit alongside solo track Zero Sugar, with its nods to the original V and Full Cycle vibes, this is real D&B at its finest.

Description:
Hailing from Switzerland, production duo Qbig & Zenith B step up for the 7th release of Counterpoint Recordings. Being one of the very promising up & coming projects in Drum & Bass, their sound builds its character around deep sonic pressure that is complemented by ‘tech’ influenced percussions and atmospheres. This single is a pinnacle of this production style, with a progressive construction, and flawless technical details.
Side A, featuring MC Resc is the first vocal track on Counterpoint, and it delivers a dark deep vibe that stands out for the way the stabs work with the bassline to deliver an outstanding 4AM style roller. Side B – Gambit, works on a more cheerful note, as its clinical percussion marks the rhythm for a growling bassline with slight neurofunk nuances.

What started as a very cheeky Bootleg of INCREDIBLE by M-BEAT & GENERAL LEVY, has now been listed as an official remix by Renk Records on streaming sites so I am proud to put my name against not only a Jungle classic, but also a straight up 90's UK Dance anthem.

‘Ten Years of Med School’ celebrates the plethora of talent to have emerged over the past decade showcasing snapshots of the imprint’s most memorable releases alongside hints of an even brighter future. Originally the understated sister label of Hospital Records, Med School is now a standalone soldier playing a significant role in electronic music, scouring every hidden corner of drum & bass and beyond.

The release showcases 18 brand new and exclusive tracks, including some stunning remixes of the label’s finest moments. Ivy Lab lead Etherwood’s uplifting ‘We’re Nothing Without Love’ down a more ominous path while Kimyan Law strips down Royalston’s drum crazy ‘Jungle Gone Down’. Frederic Robinson injects a cloud-like bounce into Keeno’s ‘Nocturne’ and Bop gives ‘Pray’ by The Erised a stunning 170bpm rework.

The album also features a host of new creations and collaborations. Etherwood and Royalston prove that opposites attract on ‘Eyes On Me’ which brilliantly combines subtle, soulful overtones with a dark, metallic allure. Newest Med School recruit Whiney presents the deep, melancholic magic of ‘Nightfall’ while label veteran Lung returns with the energetic ‘To Infinity & Be Gone’. There are also fresh contributions from the roster’s past, present and future, including works from Anile, Rawtekk, G.H.O.S.T, Blu Mar Ten, Joe Syntax, Electrosoul System, Sunchase and more.

The ten year celebrations don’t end there as Etherwood rediscovers some back catalogue highlights and blends with the album’s new material in a continuous DJ mix of 100% Med School music.

New A_GIM single Rajka (featuring additional vocals from Klark, a member of Lilly Hates Roses) has been out for a while. The highly acclaimed song announces the first solo release of Agim Dżeljilji, one of the most recognisable electronic music producers in Poland.

As he’s been in love with synthesizers from his early beginnings, the musician managed to create his unrepeatable style. Being a former member of Őszibarack or Nervy, he attended major European festivals and released several albums.

Now you can be nail-biting waiting for the upcoming compositions, but A_GIM has prepared a set of Rajka’s remixes to wet your appetite. New versions of this minimal ballad were created by extraordinarily talented Polish guys: Meeting by Chance (Marcin Cichy from Skalpel), Marcin Czubala and drum and bass duo Handra.

Our next release welcomes an exceptionally talented producer from down under; Sydney based Dauntless, debuting on Dispatch LTD with the ‘No Escape EP’.

With outings on Noisia’s Invisible and Klute’s Commercial Suicide in a few short months, the Aussie has very quickly emerged and established himself on the scene, with a penchant for stone cold beats and gnarly low end synthesis.

Comprised of four tracks (two solo, two with Sach in collab), Dauntless pays homage to the early 2000s tech sound, with a refreshed delivery primed for the current day; with tightly constructed drums and a graceful control over anarchic frequencies.

Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. ATYK is comprised of Joe & Ellis, two newcomers hailing from York, whose mix of DnB, Trap, Break Beat & Grime has been twitching ears in the scene.
