Two of Russia’s finest drum & bass producers have combined forces for an exciting new project. St Petersburg’s Microfunk mastermind Bop, and Moscow’s minimalistic groove guru Subwave, unite for their debut collaborative release ‘Love & Other Drugs’. With their elegant approach to drum & bass, this four-track EP fuses futuristic indie-electronica, 2-step UK garage, glitchy beats and 80’s inspired vocal stylings.

Progressive euphoria is the name of the game in ‘Teardrops’ as Bop x Subwave pick apart the structure of D+B in this warm, delicate and hypnotic glitch number. Following suit is ‘Space Warp’ - darker with eerie undertones, packaged as a sub-heavy stepper.

The second half of ‘Love & Other Drugs’ sees the duo branch out beyond the realms of traditional D+B. The bittersweet ballad ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ is kitted out with a definitive 80’s style. Seeing the EP home is ‘The Touch’ with the syncopated beatwork of 2-step UK Garage, complete with skippy breaks and snappy vocal sampling.

In the decade since the release of Hospital Records’ ‘Future Sound Of Russia’ LP, Bop and Subwave have produced an impressive array of tracks across Hospital Records, Med School, Liquicity, Shogun Audio, Metalheadz and Microfunk, cementing their reputations for going beyond the boundaries of D+B. High Roll are absolute giants on the Bulgarian drum and bass scene. If you happen to visit one of the massive events held there, chances are those guys are the main promoters and DJs. The boys are among the most powerful DJs in Bulgaria and in the last decade and a half, they established their reputation of relentless professionals in the favorite music genre.

The results from their work with Formation Records are over 50 tracks for the British label during the past few years. The duo is constantly showing its potential in terms of production – acknowledged by DJ SS a long time ago, it is soon to be unleashed in its full capacity.

The new release is the next step in the evolution of the duo. The Cleaner EP is here to accomplish the mission that its title announces: clean your subs with low High Roll vibrations. The EP has 5 tracks, each of them different than the others in terms of style but the main concept is to keep the progress of their distinctive sound, inspired by the authentic drum and bass culture. A full washing cycle for you mind.

Outskirts is the soft introduction for the whole cleaning cycle. Funky basslines with pitched vocal cuts and melodies are an allusion for moods and feelings you will not want to pass by.

The main detergent – 'The Cleaner' – will help you get rid of bad thoughts and vibes. A true psycho banger capable of closing every dancefloor with its brutal beat and thrilling basslines. The surprises are hidden all over the tune – from the beginning till the end.

'Filthers' is a progressive dirty roller which will barely leave any filth behind. The combination of melodic synth and constantly changing reeces has always been a top trend and therefore nobody can stand static after this washing cycle.

'Heavy Rotation' speaks louder than words. You are definitely not prepared for such a spin, so get ready to hear the heavy side of High Roll. One unstoppable whirlpool that guarantees to keep your emotions fast-paced and to ask one big question - Who’s the boss?

'Concrete Souls' is the fabric softener for all types of laundry. This track is a masterpiece which can make you smile and shed a tear at the same time. One thing is for sure: there is no way you will stay emotionless after hearing it and the vocals in the tune says it all: Sicker than the average!
