An ever-evolving musical experiment, Texas Microphone Massacre is the brainchild of long-time comrades Chris Veden and Heath Tull.  Initially conceived as an off-beat satire of hip hop and heavy metal, the duo added accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Gilbert Sanchez to the fold and began the pursuit of a long-discussed dream project:  a genre bastardizing hybrid of electronica influenced by hip-hop sensibilities and prog-rock methodologies.  In the summer of 2010, the group began production on its first album Fantasy Rolodex.  An old accomplice in previous Veden/Tull collaborations, Tim Gerron (Doyle Bramhall, Skatenigs, Skrew) was enlisted to fill the production role.  Realizing the true untapped potential of the project, Tim was conscripted as a full-time member of Texas Microphone Massacre, serving as producer and live performance consiglieri.

In February of 2011, Fantasy Rolodex was released as a free download from the band’s website, www.texasmicrophonemassacre.com.  With only a guerilla marketing and promotional effort, the project achieved a number of successes, including rave reviews in the Austin Post, Austin Independent Music, The Yay or Nay, and total:spec;  a featured remix contest on Sony’s AcidPlanet;  inclusion in Substream’s Substream Likes Vol. 2 and Substream Likes Vol. 3 indie artist compilations;  airplay on BBC’s RadioOne;  regular rotation on Austin, TX-area radio stations KROX 101.5 and KOOP 91.7; and airplay on various internet radio stations and podcasts across the globe.

Building on the foundation of Fantasy Rolodex and follow-up EP, Lovers, Texas Microphone Massacre released the project’s second full-length, Saturn’s in Retrograde, on September 22, 2014.  Recorded entirely at Gerron Music in Austin, Texas, the album crystallizes TMM’s signature take on electronic music – soaring vocals, dance-worthy drums, and driving guitars – while offering unique dynamics as-yet unheard in TMM creative efforts.

Biography / Biografia

Diva Drugs were founded in the winter of 2009 from the encounter between Teresa Laquintana, Benito Solomita, Gianluca Teasto and Antonio Cicoria. After collaborating in various similar projects the four musicians intersected the desire to be able to test their potential by creating a new and personal sound thus obtaining innovative compositions in the alternative rock field. In May 2010 the first songs were written to take part in the EP "Charlie on the Moon" (recorded at the Caos studios between October-November 2010, released the same year on December and containing three tracks: Kein Engel Weiss, Amnesia and the title track). At the beginning of the summer of 2011 the band changed lineup: now we have Cristina Zerulo on bass, Antonio Totaro on guitar and Cris Neemaw on drums supported by the original members Benito and Teresa. At the moment the band is working on new songs that will be included in the next album, wich will be released in 2012, improving their own style to make it even more sophisticated and innovative leaving, anyway, free space to new experiences and sensations to transmit with pleasure to the listener.

Dopo aver collaborato in numerosi progetti affini, i quattro musicisti intersecarono il loro desiderio di testare il proprio potenziale creando un suono fresco e personale con lo scopo di ottenere composizioni innovative nel campo del rock alternativo. Nel Maggio del 2010 furono scritte le prime canzoni che successivamente avrebbero fatto parte dell'EP "Charlie on the moon" (registrato presso i Caos Studios tra Ottobre-Novembre del 2010, rilasciato a Dicembre dello stesso anno e contenente tre tracce: Kein Engel Weiss, Amnesia e la traccia che da il titolo al disco). Ai principi dell'estate del 2011 la band cambiò lineup: ora abbiamo Cristina Zerulo al basso, Antonio Totaro alle chitarre e Cris Neemaw alla batteria supportati dai membri originali Benito e Teresa. Al momento la band sta lavorando ai nuovi brani da includere nel prossimo album, che verrà realizzato nel 2012, incrementando il proprio stile per renderlo ancor più sofisticato ed innovativo lasciando spazio, comunque, a nuove esperienze e sensazioni da trasmettere con piacere all'ascoltatore.
