Sounds Of Ogigia is a new label inspired by ancient Greek gnosis, ritual practices and deviant sounds. 

The label is a crossover from the homonymous show for the Edinburgh based EH-FM which is presented by dj and promoter Pako Vega since August 2018.

The first release is by one of the strongest names in the game these days: Aggelos Baltas aka Anatolian Weapons @anatolianweapons. 

On this occasion, the Greek man is delivering a full-on eclectic EP with his unique ethnic touch. This four-track EP is a delicacy for the nonconformists; going from a Psych-Rock exploration and Dancehall rhythms to cathartic Slow-Chug and EBM belters.

The EP will be release digitally only on 21.11.2020 exclusively via Bandcamp.

Anatolian Weapons - Cause And Effect EP (SOO01) [Snippets]

Jesse is one most interesting electronic acts of the northern countries. Stiletti-Ana and Kalifornia-Keke make up the core of the band that plays with new genres and often explores new musical areas. In the bands residence, the studio in Helsinki with a collection of retro futuristic synthesizers that would make even William Onyeabor envy, the members are toying with new influences and creates deep pulsating and atmospheric songs. Höga Nord Rekords now release two of them as a 7”.

This single has more in common with Stiletti-Anas solo record from 2019 than of earlier releases by Jesse and is more oriented towards and ambient- and leftfield sound than “Fluids” from 2018. The songs bubble and flows beneath a tense surface. The music is suggestive and soft, still with a club nerve in it. 

Jesse often chooses new musical paths and this release is the start of such a new direction.

Purring and purring, she slinked along the skirting board towards the sweet scent of wet matter. Her blades undulated like a well oiled piston while her fur glistened in the half-light with natural polish. Turning casually to the right, her mirror image twisted back at her. Both froze at once, wide eyes locked. A few moments later, they proceeded to engage in a careful tango before going about their bored business once more.

Yu Su goes deeper into the depths of dub-wisdom with this latest release for Bangkok's Siamese Twins, a remix for Mogambo. The latter are a Thai-based duo pursuing mind expansion and bodily comfort through their outernational brand of psy-tronica and trance. The Chinese producer, though, gives their Goan beach comedown track 'Jeena' a renewed and almost sinister intensity. Unlike the levity of her previous dubby moments, such as her Technicolor outing Watermelon Woman, 'Jeena' is a more frowning interpretation that suits the current social climate: dark, cold and unforgiving.

Third number in the DDS split series after a pair of releases courtesy of Betonkust/Új Bála and DJ Overdose/Sematic4, ‘DDS03’ sees Budapest duo SILF (alias Farbwechsel chief-operators Alpár & S Olbricht) and Den Haag-based pair Intergalactic Gary and Pasiphae join forces on a quartet of elusive, unpigeonholeable power moves.
Having slept in the label’s vaults for a few seasons, the two tracks composing the B-side emerge from their slumber in all their time-proof bravura. 
Our choice here was, closing the journey on a much softer, hazier vibe, ‘Aces’ which steers us towards a realm of ambient wonder, where slo-drip cascades of tapping percussions and elegiac synth waters flow into warm, glimmering summer beds. A most contrasting, tranquillising finale to an EP defined by its propensity to change colours and intensity throughout.

He’s been masterly blurring the lines between techno, electro, tribal, drone and other styles in his own 'Methodrone' show on LYL radio, and it’s time he gives us a little taste of that in LAYER #247.
Dive into his dark, visceral soundscapes pepped up with some snappy kicks.

He is an extremely talented producer, he's released music on the best labels from the electronic scene such as Mechatronica, Permanent Vacation, Giallo Records, Les Yeux Orange etc.

 We have to confess that we are a super fans of his radio show which airs on Threads Radio... such inspiring analogue sounds and a fantastic selection of electronic music.
Timothy today brings us a nice trip mix and an excellent contribution to the Italo moderni family.
