One of Slovenia’s most beloved producers makes his long awaited return to Great Stuff. Mike Vale unleashes two tasty chunks of throbbing underground tech-house to kick start the new clubbing season in style.

The “Concept Of Reality” tune is outright energy and funk driven, a thick sub heavy groove bangs along intensely, while the classic house chords layered on top provide the perfect vibe. The effect-trenched, pitched vocals keep you hooked from the start, taking you deep into the music.

Track numero duo “Something Like This” goes right in for the win, the mesmeric overtones suck you in, as the deep, throbbing bassline powers the track to a broad build of chords and effects that is just spot on. The slow burning groove makes this the perfect track for some late-night dancefloor madness.

I don't envy anyone starting out as an artist these days. The amount of producers out there (never mind the amount of music) is mind boggling. 

As a label it would be easy just to focus on established acts but there's something about dance music that makes me always excited to hear what the youngest, or the freshest producers are up to.

Spring Summer Fall Winter is a quarterly compilation compiled by Davide Squillace to be released on his label This And That Lab. Each edition is split into two parts with this being part B of the fourth edition.

Featuring a selection of styles percussive grooves and uplifting melodies this release includes tracks by Basti Grub, Affani, Federico Fioretti, DJ Simi and Last Vision. Combining tracks from a broad cross section of artists, each edition focuses on textures both audible and visual.

Opening part B of the edition is Basti Grub, who along with many previous releases on This And That has releases on some of electronic music most prestigious labels such as Hot Creations, Mobilee Records, Stil Vor Talent and Get Physical. Quirky vocals and vibrant percussion are a staple of Basti Grub’s style, and this seductive track titled “You Want Me” is true to his trademark sound.

Second is a collaborative track from DJ Simi and Last Vision who despite their many solo productions are joining forces for the first time with their track “Lithic Phase”. Deep and atmospheric, the tracks stripped back groove mixes trademark elements from their solo contributions to labels such as Great Stuff, Paul's Boutique, Stereo Productions and Snatch! Records.

Providing the third track is veteran producer Affani who has a timeless sound previously featured on labels including Nervous and Bush. Slow, building bass swells as the popping percussion cuts through the gliding pads that combine to give the tracks timeless sound perfect for all occasions.

Closing the release with a deep and spiritual track is Federico Fioretti who has also released on Glasgow Underground. Rich percussive textures and epic melodies blended with ceremonial chanting form the foundation of this uplifting composition that arguably saves the best till last.
