The album is based on authentic song material, which was collected during expeditions into various parts of Belarus.
Recorded, mixed and mastered between october'2012 and march'2014 at Vozdookh studio, Brest, Belarus by Andrew Bogdanow.

Rajok (Raj) is a folklore fantasy character represented in autumn reaping days’ songs. Our forefathers or «dziady» believed, that Rajok is a creature that could talk to croppers, ask the way, and sometimes come into the yard. The visits of such a being were supposed to cause greater happiness. Rajok takes care of cereals, helps to stay healthy and live in prosperity throughout the year.

Rajok is also associated with a bee swarm, but mostly the word is used as a derivative from Raj that means 'paradise'. It also denotes the Sacred World Tree.

«What are you singing?» – «Summer!» 
Just like this, with one word, people in Palessie describe a whole cycle of seasonal ritual songs that reflect the customs and beliefs of our nation. 

The album is based on folk songs recorded during 4 years of expeditions to different regions of Palessie. The collected tunes were given new instrumental arrangements but retained the authentic melodies and microlanguages of their native regions.

«Vuraj» («Вурай») is a belarusian musical ethnic folk band.

 The band was founded in 2010 and has so far released three albums and one EP: «Vuraj» (2010), «Songs, Fairy tales and Dances» (2011), «Rajok» (2014), «Šeść zahadok» (EP, 2015) and «Lito»
 Vuraj uses purely authentic song material which allows to create absolutely new music compositions of peculiar sounding.

Since that time it has achieved popularity in Belarus and other neighbor countries. Also Vuraj has taken part in many music festivals in Belarus, Ukraine, Russian and Poland.
