Remember Chinese Whispers, Stille Post or Rikkinäinen Puhelin? That children’s game, known all over the world, that illustrates the difficulties of transmitting information, but which also reveals the creativity of discontinuous conversation? It feels like the Patterns of Perception and @awalkingcontradiction collectives have been in such a conversation for the past years across a multitude of label nights, private hangouts, and shared festival experiences.

Based in Basel, Switzerland but unhinged from national contexts, A Walking Contradiction is a label for music and research. Curated by @varuna4053, @lemont-eana and Dead Electronic Space Limited (@ltd_dead), the collective share a penchant for beats - broken and straight - yet can't help but churn out music for the quiet hours. A deeply reflective group, you’ll find snippets of their conversations on social, political, economic, and environmental issues hidden in sounds or in plain sight on the sleeves of their records.

Compiled entirely from new and unreleased material, their Patterns of Perception 102 is but the latest product of interlocutions and whispers between Basel, Berlin, Helsinki and the world in general, paying tribute to the significance of community where the legitimacy of commons is increasingly impugned. 
Levitating within a field of sophisticated textures and percussion, this set burns slowly, but with a luminescent intensity. Angular experimental ambience builds into winding, complex rhythms. Inspired minds elevate delicate melancholia into a true sense of hope.

Polygonia joined our family earlier this year, introducing herself with a killer performance at Harmony Label Night in Prague's Ankali club. Her track 'Marea' is part of the upcoming compilation, X [HARMONY010], released on the 13th of January. Besides that, she has a collaborative project on Harmony coming up in late 2023 that we are very much looking forward to.  💚

Those familiar with our dear friends at Harmony Rec (@harmony-rec) will be undoubtedly familiar with Kenny's impeccable body of work, and for the rest an eye-opening treat awaits. Here, Kenny gathers highlights from his recent live sets and newly recorded material, arranged and refined into a perfect contemplation of the crisp arboreal air, a vivid composition of body and sound entwined tightly beneath the earth. Meet Agonis, the Swiss-based producer and DJ who emerged in 2015, known for his genre-defying sound that blends elements of techno, house, ambient, and drum & bass. As a resident at the respected club Elysia, he's had the opportunity to showcase his unique sound on some notable stages around the globe, from the Labyrinth Festival in Japan to Organik Festival in Taiwan and many more. 
With a career spanning over a decade, Agonis has released music on his own label Amenthia recordings, which he co-founded with Garçon as well as international labels such as Smoke Machine, Kynant and Traumgarten. In 2021 he released his debut album "Neutropia" which has been well-received by the critics.

"To commemorate Inveins’ 100th episode, I wanted to create a journey that honors the story of the series thus far, reflecting on its influence as a long-standing narrative in techno and ambient while staying true to my personal style. To do so I sought out a sense of balance when developing the mix, trying to find a careful harmony between the inspiriting and the meditative, a flow that shifts but never strays, and drawing from producers and labels whose music I consider both contemporary and timeless. 

I hope the recording captures my respect and admiration for the series, bookending one chapter while opening the door to the next."
