Drawing inspiration from the thriving and psychedelic cumbia scene of the 70s, Filipe Salmon and Rafael Pereira have been fusing these traditional rhythms with modern techno beats, with a twist of Jamaican dancehall swagger and dub ambiance, creating a unique and mesmerizing sound in the process. Their amazing debut album 'La Alianza Profana' has wowed critics and listeners alike, which coupled with their surreal videos and audio-visual live shows has won them countless fans the world over, making them one of the most impressive new acts in the tropical electronica scene. 

In Lokumba they momentarily break away from the expected cumbia template and favor a choppy, bass-heavy hip-hop-influenced beat, splashed with haunting synths and their unmistakeable mystical vibe with a tropical flair.
