Black Light Smoke: Music To.. Make Pancakes To

Giorgio Isaev. The name oozes like grease from a busted gearbox, slick with the kind of sinister allure that could only gestate in the blackened womb of St. Petersburg’s underground. Born in the glowing wreckage of vodka-soaked discos and neon-lit labyrinths, Isaev built his legend like a crooked tower of Italo beats and disco bones. But he didn’t stop at legend—no, this madman rewired it. He dragged in syncopated rhythms and snake-charmer ethnic sounds, creating a Frankenstein groove that storms the gates of sanity. Istanbul tried to lock him down with its clandestine parties and velvet-rope dens, but Giorgio Isaev doesn’t do locked. He’s the jailbreak incarnate.

Enter Bruce The Bat Person and Vector Malevolent—names that sound like they were pulled straight from the book of dark alchemy. What started as underground rituals, soundtracked by the moans of overstressed speakers in rooms where the walls bleed condensation, has evolved into something far more dangerous. Their digital label, launched like a flaming arrow back in October, has already found its mark. The first release was less a record and more a manifesto—a declaration of war against the mundane. If you haven’t flinched yet, then you’re either dead or terminally dull.

Isaev’s sound? It’s a dirty bomb wrapped in 80s new wave, gothic despair, and noir-soaked menace, lobbed directly at your nervous system. Collaborations with Nothing Is Real and Epicure? Sure. A trial by fire at Solar Systo 2022? Absolutely. But that’s all just foreplay. The real chaos is still loading in the chamber. Giorgio Isaev and his Disco Pastors aren’t here to play nice. They’re here to torch the dance floor and scatter the ashes. When the last synth wails and the final beat shudders into silence, don’t bother asking who survived. Chances are, it won’t include you.

Mi Chi Ko ha tocado en festivales como Solomun Monterrey, Zamna Monterrey y Pal Norte, y en clubes como Funk, Departamento, Topaz Deluxe y Bar Oriente. Ha compartido escenario con artistas como Blond:ish, Solomun y Zombies in Miami. 🎧

Además, es residente de Topaz Deluxe y cofundadora de Penumbra, un sello que apoya talento emergente. Mi Chi Ko también trabaja en proyectos que impulsan el talento femenino, como ArdeArte y Humo Rosa de Cerveza Rey.
