I have been sitting on this mixtape for a little while now but decided, the sun is shining, it's time for some new music.

This mix is inspired by a simple concept: some tunes I love reimagined in a new context cumbiero. As I was finishing my last EP Cumbias Imaquinarias (https://elbuho.bandcamp.com/album/cumbias-imaquinarias-ep) I  went back to some Cumbia roots and decided to make this slightly mad mixtape of all sorts of music with Cumbia as the thread running through the mix. Everything from Manu Chao to Burial ;)

Standing Rock in Acid Bogen - Kater Blau SaSoMo 30.10.16
This set is dedicated to the brave fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers who are fighting for a better future at Standing Rock.

In the last weeks I've been following the grotesque picturesque but deadly conflict between native tribes of the land and big corporate fusel powers at Standing Rock in Dakota.
I find it hard to bear when I see my brothers and sisters treated in such inhumane ways. And like with a lot of the horrors that are going on around the world, I get deeply moved and wants to do something about it, but often ends in some sort of despair - for what can we do about all these cruelties? Where to start? With escapism into hedonism? Or how shall we be able to turn over this sick system that has infested the world like cancer and infiltrated every aspect of human life.
The nightmare man created and that we all are recreating and supporting every living hour - brings about so immense pain and fatal consequences - that not only is it going to be our own nemesis - if we don’t change our way of life - but it is already eradicating and endangering all the beautiful life on mother earth. Thousands of species have gone extinct because of mans greed, and with literally dozens going extinct every day, we are all part of a monstrous holocaust.
This grim reality and heavy responsibility is very hard to bear or even deal with, but in music with real soul, deep roots and hope, I feel that I am able to proces it in some ways. Other times when I need to immerse myself in the rave to go through some sort of catharsis I feel blessed that we haven’t eradicated dance culture. For in this ancient ritual I feel a stronger connection to source. And it gives me hope when I in these temporary freespace we create together - to a common beat - meets other souls with the same vibe. I feel a deep sense of belonging when I meet with my tribe and immerse myself in the collective catharsis, the cleaning of the soul, the coming together.  A very important step in awakening as one.


This is why I do what I do all day!

Moonshine Light

Zu jeder Vollmondnacht zieht es mich raus aufs Dach. Von dort aus geht es rein in die Stadt. Da streif ich umher, solange bis ich meine Beute hab. Mal wieder gibt es Menschenfleisch satt.
Anschließend flüchte ich raus aufs Land. Auf allen Vieren rennend, verschmelze ich mit dem nächtlichen Gewand. Nur das Licht des Mondes erhellt meinen Pfad. Ich heul ihn an, obwohl ich ihn eigentlich verfluchen mag. 
Jede Vollmondnacht verwandle ich mich in ein Ungeheuer. In eine Bestie, entstiegen aus dem Fegefeuer. Ein uralter Fluch lastet auf meiner Seele. Einmal im Monat wächst mir ein Fell und tierische Laute entfahren meiner Kehle. So kommt es, wie es kommen muss und ich verspeise Menschen, mit einem widernatürlich-animalischen Genuss.

Der heutige Podcast gleicht einer Märchenstunde. Edu.Buscholl mag es mystisch und geheimnisvoll. Die atmosphärischen Klänge erzählen von Fabelwesen und Heldentaten, die magischen Melodien verbreiten frohe Kunde. Heute gibt es ein Set für die Phantasie, viel Spaß und genieß diese private, transportable und allzeit verfügbare Philharmonie.

On this drizzly November day, the witch’s forest had gone quiet and the trees had lost all their leaves, while the nights were getting colder and colder.  At dusk time, the witch was sitting near a cozy camp fire (which she had lit with a little floating light), in the company of all the spotter owls of the forest.  Many of these birds were quite old and still remembered the day when the little witch arrived in the forest as a 9 year-old child.  At that time, the woods were in a pretty bad shape and the ecosystem was quite poor and declining.  But now – 10 years after the arrival of the girl - the forest has made a rapid transformation into a distinctly rich and varied ecosystem and it has become a safe haven for many endangered species.  
To make these woods such a wildlife paradise, it was of crucial importance to keep the humans out and that’s where the spotter owls played a vital role.  Whenever a human entered the witch’s forest, the spotters immediately raised the alarm and the intruder rarely got deeper than 50 meters into the woods before being chased out (generally this is done by buzzards or wild boars).  To keep out hunters, a different tactic was applied as the intruder will soon find himself surrounded by lots of endangered species of animals, making it impossible to shoot at anything without risking to hit one of the rare animals.  The witch herself is never directly involved in these interceptions, except when the rangers of the Nature Conservation Department try to enter the forest.  For the witch, this is the biggest of insults.  What do the rangers think they can add to this perfectly balanced ecosystem?  All the forest animals know the little witch as a gentle and adorable being, but if provoked, she can really scare the hell out of people with only her eerie witch’s gaze.  This appears to be very effective, as the wildlife rangers only show up once every 2 or 3 years and it’s never twice the same persons.
Yet, once in a bleu moon, the spotter owls spontaneously decide to let a human enter this secret garden of Eden.  And this is what happened last spring, when a young couple arrived on their bicycles and decided to have a walk in the forest.  Despite noticing that their smartphones had stopped functioning (as a result of an anti-electronic witch’s spell), the couple soon got mesmerized by the pristine beauty of these woods, and after a long, unhurried walk, they decided to lie down on a soft bed of green moss on the side of a crystal-clear little stream.  After that, they got so inspired by their idyllic surroundings that soon it was all trees and flowers and bees and birds.  They lost all sense of space and time and they only came back to their senses at dusk time, when it was already too dark to find the way out.  The little witch (who stayed out of sight all day long) quickly sent a few floating lights and thanks to these guiding lights, the couple found the way back to the edge of the forest…
