The lack of contact, even between humans, has become in recent days a truly demanding norm. Far away from sitting and waiting for better days to come, Close Encounters as a sub label has always been 30D’s way to gather artists aiming to explore the wider techno spectrum, combining freedom, rhythm and each artist’s particular vision of their sound. We’re now sharing with you the results of the Sixth Encounter, to be released the forthcoming 26th February 2021.
 
Hekum, Jiman, Omnia Vox and Téo Dréan: Four tracks. Four artists. Four ways to resume and to push forward what we may expect from techno in this yet uncertain year to come.

Francofonte” is the first solo EP from the mighty Hyper Binary on Lounge Squatt, out now on a limited 12-inch edition.

Drawing inspiration from his  father's and mother's birthplace, with Niata having broken beat drum grooves, intense pads and an assertive lead. Francofonte being more stripped back with a diligently placed synth lead that fills the space.

909 Resistance invited to Francofonte rmx and boy does he do it justice. Energic tool remix ready!

First we have never done a B2B session and furthermore we decided to go out of our comfort zone and play different music from the one we specialize in. Our goal was to experiment with something different and to enjoy while doing it.

Piotr Świętochowski aka Saint Peter. Based in Warsaw. Addicted to electronic music, raver and DJ, author of The Trackletters - regular podcasts containing a subjective overview of his favorite music. He is distinguished by a unique style in the selection of tracks based on diversity and great versatility. That's why he calls his mixes and artistic styles #day (progressive, deep, tech, melodic house, melodic techno) and #night (techno, hard techno). A man of a bipolar nature what can be heard in the music he presents. In 2020, after many years of break, he returned to playing with people and for the people. In recent months, you could hear him in venues such as Smolna, Luzztro, ISKRA Pole Mokotowskie, The Blue Oyster and lots of bigger and smaller secret parties which never happened 😉 Together with a group of friends, he runs Znamy się z Techno - a community focused around electronic music, festivals and club culture.

Jon Hussey, a pioneer of the Irish Techno scene DJing since the early nineties, kick-starting at the infamous Planet Dub night in Dublin. He has promoted and resided at many Techno clubs throughout Ireland as well as playing in many Techno havens across the world including Amsterdam, London, New York, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds and Turin.

In '99 Jon was among the first group from Ireland to qualify for the Red Bull Music Academy which was held in Berlin. Over the past decade he has kept this passion nurtured by being continuously involved in similar projects and innovations and recently organised a group of young rising Irish DJs and producers to participate at the pioneering PLUG “Plug European Electronic Music Conference” in Berlin. 

Music wise Jon has played alongside many of his all time favourite artists from Plaid to Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Sunil Sharpe, Takaaki Itoh, Ancient Methods, Loktibrada, Rumenige, Dave Clarke, Mark Broom, Henning Baer, Inigo kennedy, Neil Landstrumm, Reeko, Grovskopa, DJ Boss, Bas Mooy, Perc, Hardfloor, Oscar Mulero, Jerome Hill, AnD, Truss, Paula Temple, Christian Wunsch and Exium!!

In 2011 Jon dedicated some production time with fellow Techno DJ Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker Tricaustic and released “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” on Komisch records which was well received and supported by artists such as Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Peter Van Hoesen, Anthony Shakir, Smear, Kriz, DJ 3000 and many more.

Recently the national radio station (2FM) were quoted in their Late Night Sessions Blog as stating that “Jon Hussey is one of the longest serving true purveyors of Techno in Ireland, running nights in the early days of Dublin's dance scene, when techno to most people meant U96 or 2 Unlimited. Consistently one of the best DJs around, Jon never lets the side down” giving a rare insight into Jon's personality as a DJ!
