[PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] proudly presents its 86th release — Mountain Altai VA: Tavda Caves. Dub Techno Star Collection, Vol. 5

Night. The entrance to the Tavda Caves is veiled in smoke from campfires and stars reflected on stone. Here, for centuries, the shamans of Altai performed their rituals — beating drums, summoning the spirits of rivers and mountains. The stone halls became temples, where the echo repeated every word, turning it into an incantation. The Tavda Caves are one of the legendary places of Altai — hollow mountains that still carry the resonance of ancient voices. Hunters and shamans once lived here, nomads found shelter in the darkness, and now those who seek the earth’s energy come to listen. The stone keeps the breath of thousands of years, and if you stay still, you can hear the music of darkness and the echo of light.

This fifth chapter of Mountain Altai VA sounds like an ancient ritual, where each track is a separate spell.

The first miracle happens the moment light breaks through the fissure. The stone, silent for centuries, answers with a gentle resonance. “Miracle” is that instant when darkness hears the sound of light, and the cave takes its first breath.

Mountain Altai VA: Tavda Caves is the fifth chapter of our Altai chronicle — where sound descends underground to hear the breath of the planet. The Tavda Caves are a place where time slows down, where drops of water become the metronome of eternity, and the stone halls carry the echoes of ancient voices. Here, light becomes sound, silence becomes space, and dub techno becomes the living echo of the mountain’s depths. This part of the collection, created in celebration of the third anniversary of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], continues our sonic pilgrimage through Altai — taking the listener beneath the earth, to the place where everything begins. A story about depth. About how, even under layers of stone, you can still hear the light.

Hopler Route - Miracle (Original Mix)

I thought I'd set a challenge for myself while learning the Intellijel Atlantix by making a track with 100% sounds created with the module. From percussion, bass, pads, and chords, to textural effects, everything was created with the Atlantix and recorded into Ableton where I layered sounds and built out an arrangement. 

Added some slight compression and reverb/delay to certain tracks using Valhalla Delay, VintageVerb, and FutureVerb.

I'll take another pass at this track to sub out some sounds — particularly the chords, as I don't like how they sit in the mix, and sequencing and recording each note of the chord individually and layering in Ableton was a faff.

Overall, enjoyed the experiment and learnt a lot about what the Atlantix is capable of! Constraints breed creativity.

The latest full length release from Greyscale features a fresh new artist to the lineup. This is also the debut full album from Ukraine artist Extractor. Named 'Echo Train', this 9 tracker is full of crafty chords and spirited jams of dub techno for any season or atmosphere. 'Aurora' & the title track 'Echo Train', are catchy early morning vibe enchancers while 'Rain Impulse' is the pinnacle to a profound dubby soundtrack on a gloomy day. Soaring thru the sky with 'Winter Clouds' will certainly be a favorite of listeners while it's revision gets a bit more granular with the rhythm. This album features some deeper cuts as well. An example like 'Cold Movements' is full of icy ripples of techy goodness. Then you certainly have the showstopping sounds of 'Storm' which brings some sick and edgy darkness to it. 'Catalyst' is not to be missed either for those that like the slow churning classic dub techno grooves. Quite a debut album here! The future looks bright for Extractor and we are thrilled to have him on Greyscale!
